The Meteor Fragment is one of the new items that can be in the Traveling Merchant’s stock. It is used to trigger a Meteor Shower event in the server, which lasts for 20 minutes and provides a 2x Luck boost to all players, increasing the chance of obtaining Meteor Shards and rare minerals while panning.
Note: When used, the game prompts a confirmation message: “Would you like to use Meteor Fragment? Use again to activate,” to prevent accidental use.

How To Get Meteor Fragment in Prospecting
You can only obtain Meteor Fragments by purchasing them from the Traveling Merchant NPC.
Locate the Traveling Merchant: The Traveling Merchant spawns every hour at the 45th minute (Example, 9:45 AM, 10:45 AM, etc., based on your local timezone) and stays for 15 minutes or until they sell out their stock. A server-wide message announces the NPC’s spawn location, such as Fortune River Delta, Caldera Island, Azuralite Oasis, Sunset Beach, or Windswept Beach.
Purchase the Meteor Fragment:
- The Traveling Merchant sells four items per spawn, which may include the Meteor Fragment.
- Cost: 5,000,000,000 Money or 1,500 Meteor Shards.
- Only one Meteor Fragment is available per spawn, so act fast to secure it.
Tips for Success
Monitor the in-game clock to be ready at XX:45 each hour.
Check the server-wide announcement for the exact spawn location and head there immediately.
