Learn about the effects of the Molten Mutation on your crops and how to access it in Grow a Garden’s latest update.
The developers have added a lot of things to Grow a Garden with the recent Working Bees Update on June 14, 2025. Among the new pets, seeds, and items, we also got treated to new weather events that impart new mutations. One of them is the Molten Mutation.
Like the others, the Molten Mutation changes how a crop looks and also enhances its value. This article is a short guide on how to get the new mutation and its effects on your crops.

How To Get
The mutation can only be obtained during the newly added weather event that spawns a giant volcano behind the pet shop area. This is an Admin Weather and therefore does not occur naturally in Grow a Garden. One of the administrators, such as the devs, has to manually turn it on.
You would have to be online in a private or public server during that crucial period to experience the Volcano Event. A warning is sent to all the active players about the impending natural disaster, and the sky turns blood red.
If you manage to get to the event, when the volcano erupts and sends lava, crops in your garden get a chance to get the Molten Mutation. This event was first announced on Grow a Garden’s official X account, where they also shared a photo of the Volcano. The announcement also notes that the weather event is inspired by Luker Weber, aka Stickmasterluke’s classic Roblox experience, Natural Disaster Survival:

Molten Mutation: What Does It Do
Here is a breakdown of what the mutation does to your crops:
- It changes the visual appearance of the affected crop to a bright orange, red, or yellow color. Very similar to the Shocked Mutation.
- It increases the value of the crop by 25 times.
While getting the mutation might be a bit tricky, as the Volcano has to be triggered by an Admin, the x25 value multiplier is certainly quite a good bonus to have.
