Plagued Mutation Modifier
The Plagued Mutation adds x111 to the value modifier of the affected crop. Befitting the name, the crops also have a greenish cloud of particles surrounding them. This makes the affected fruit or flower look quite sickly.
Obtaining the Plagued Mutation

The Plagued Mutation is a combination of the Infected and Zombified mutations. Like other combination mutations, such as Blazing, the order does not matter. However, once both Infected and Zombified affect the same crop, they get replaced with the Plagued Mutation. To that end, you have to first acquire Infected and Zombified mutations on your crops.
Zombified Mutation Guide
The Chicken Zombie Pet is the only way to get the Zombified mutation in Grow a Garden. It is an Admin-exclusive pet released during the Blood Moon update earlier this year. As of the current patch, the only way to get your hands on one of these pets is by trading with another player. Check out our Trading Ticket guide to learn how to make effective trades in Grow a Garden.
Infected Mutation Guide
Getting this one can be quite hard, as crops only get the Infected mutation during the Jandel Zombie Invasion event. This is an Admin Exclusive event first introduced on July 12, 2025. This does not occur normally and requires an admin to trigger. During the event, zombies spawn around the map that can bite and infect players, and crops in your garden randomly gain the Infected Mutation.
While normally you need both Infected and Zombified mutations to get Plagued, the new Tiger Pet from the Jungle Egg can directly impart the Plagued Mutation as per its ability. However, the odds of this happening are quite rare.
