Price and How To Get
You can buy the Great Rod of Oscar for 5 million C$ from the Oscar’s Locker area. However, you can only reach the area after completing the Dead Mans Tale quest. There are no level restrictions, meaning you can start the quest and buy the rod if you have the money. But it will take some time for beginners to get to this level. Dead Mans Tale Quest and Oscar’s Locker
To do the quest:
- Go to the Forsaken Shores island and drive your boat inside the big skull in the middle of the island.
- Go up the stairs and talk to Old Man Joe NPC. This will start the Dead Mans Tale quest.
- The quest will ask you to get an Amulet from the Grand Reef.
- Sail to the Grand Reef and disembark at the central island.
- You will find the amulet in a broken boat, as shown above. Press and hold E or tap to get it.
- Go back to Old Man Joe to complete the Dead Mans Tale.
Now you can go to Oscar’s Locker and buy the Great Rod of Oscar. To do so, equip the amulet from your inventory. This will save you from the decay that can kill you otherwise. Follow these steps to enter Oscar’s Locker:
- Spawn at Moosewood and start sailing North-East.
- Use the Submarine if you have it. Otherwise, the Advanced Diving Gear should work as well.
- Sail past the Terrapin Island towards the Northern Expedition till you find the rock outrcopping as shown above. The coordinates should be roughly 299, 134, 4073.
- Dive down and you will find a glowing cave. Oscar’s Locker area is at the end.
- The Great Rod of Oscar should be in the second cave.
