The Pachycephalosaurus is a new legendary-tier pet in Grow a Garden. Let’s learn how you can obtain this in the game.

The Pet Mutations event (Version 1.14.0) is currently live in Grow a Garden. The event recorded significant changes in the gameplay with the introduction of new dinosaur-themed pets, among others. One of the new pets in the game is the Pachycephalosaurus. It is a legendary-tier pet and can be hatched from the Primal Egg. Let’s learn more about it.
Grow a Garden Pachycephalosaurus Guide
The Pachycephalosaurus sports a dusty rose-colored hide and carries its body in a forward-leaning stance, ready to charge. Its most striking feature is the bold red dome on its head, a built-in battering ram that makes it stand out from the crowd.
How to Get the Pachycephalosaurus
To get this pet, you need to obtain a Primal Egg. Here’s how you can get a Primal Egg.
- Crafting a Primal Egg: The first method involves crafting the Primal Egg. You first need to upgrade the DNA Machine to at least level 3 by giving Barry (the raptor NPC) 120 KG of Prehistoric Plants. After that, visit the crafting table and combine the required materials and wait 30 minutes for the Primal Egg to craft.
- Trading Pets with Graham: Another method is to trade pets at the DNA Machine. This, too, requires the DNA Machine to be upgraded to at least level 3. Trade any non-dinosaur pet to Graham. After a 1-hour mutation process, you may receive 1–4 Primal Eggs, Dinosaur Eggs, or a dinosaur pet (low chance).
- Purchase a Premium Primal Egg: This is the easiest and time-saving method. Visit the in-game shop and purchase a Premium Primal Eggs for 149 Robux (this involves real-world money).
Note: There is a 28% chance that the Primal Egg will hatch the Pachycephalosaurus. This might take multiple attempts.
What Does the Pachycephalosaurus Do?
The Pachycephalosaurus has a unique ability called “Crafty Dome.” This pet grants a 6 to 13.5% chance to duplicate crafted items (example: Lightning Rods, Amber Mutation Spray, Dinosaur Eggs) when collecting them from crafting stations.
Equipping multiple Pachycephalosaurus pets in your garden boosts the duplication chance, up to a maximum of 40%.
