High Tides is a classic pirate game on Roblox. Created by Synesthetics, it allows players to simulate pirate life with the classic game mode, having proper ship-to-ship combat. With different classes and a whole variety of weapons in the game, High Tides is inspired by Team Fortress-style gameplay. If you get bored with the classic mode, there are several different maps, including one with zombies, to help break the flow.

This article will be a guide on how to play High Tides in Roblox. We will be breaking down some of the in-game classes and explain the gameplay loop as well to help beginners master the game.

High Tides Roblox Classic Mode Guide

The gameplay loop of the classic mode is simple. All players in the server get sorted into two separate pirate teams- Red and Blue. Each team has a big ship, and your objective is to blow up the opposing team’s vessel with dynamite. The two ships are separated by a ton of water, and you can spawn different boats to travel over the sea to reach the other side. Before spawning into the game, you have to choose a class to play.

Let us go over the basic controls before diving into the class system.

Controls

  • Camera: Press shift to lock/unlock the camera. You can zoom in by scrolling the mouse wheel to play the game in first person as well.

Here is a breakdown of all the classes in the game’s classic mode.

  • Crewmate: Arguably the most important class in the game. Crewmates are essential in High Tides as they get access to the Repair Hammer. You use it to defuse dynamite. Always make sure your team has at least a couple of crewmates to defend your ship.
  • Raider: This is the general offense class in the game. Your primary weapon is a gun, which is the flintlock by default. You also get a cutlass as your secondary. Your primary goal is to board the opponent’s pirate ship and blow it up using Dynamites, which is your tertiary weapon.
  • Duelist: This is also an offense class but you only get a melee weapon. You get a smoke bomb as your secondary weapon, which can be used to hide from enemies and increase your movement speed. You can spend coins to get the grappling hook instead to grapple to walls or other people. You also get a dynamite to blow up ships.
  • Demolitionist: A tankier class that gets access to the blunderbuss (shotgun) by default. You also get a cutlass, but your main goal is to use dynamite and blow up your opponent’s ship.
  • Bagman: A support class that can change the game drastically. You have access to the bandage kit that heals other players. You also get access to various buffing items.

  • Classic Mode: In the classic mode, you have two ships and your objective is to kill your opponents and damage their ship using dynamites. Use Dockers as shown in the photo above to summon boats.
  • Bloody Buccaneers: Like the classic mode, you are sorted into teams, but this time the ships are connected with planks, and there are no dockers.
  • Freedom Corsairs: Free for all deathmatch mode. Everyone on the map is your enemy. Your objective is to have the most kills before the timer runs out.
  • Flying Dutchman: In this mode, you are either a Marauder or a Zombie. Zombies can infect Marauders and turn them into their team. While Marauders’ objective is to survive for six minutes.

There are several maps in the game for each game mode to keep things interesting. You can invite your friends and play together. Join the Discord server to connect with the larger community.
