Survival Island awaits! Master the mechanics of survival on a tropical island and prepare for the Rivals & Regrowth Update.
Survival Island is a sandbox survival game on Roblox. As the name suggests, you are stranded on a tropical island and have to use the resources available to survive. Created by Neko Valley in August 2024, Survival Island has over 3 million visits on Roblox. The upcoming Rivals & Regrowth Update on July 14 is slated to add wild trees that regrow and a more robust multiplayer system.
This article will explore the basics of the game and introduce you to the mechanics to help you craft and mine efficiently.
Survival Island Roblox Guide
The core gameplay loop of Survival Island is about managing your thirst, hunger, and hit points. You will have to maintain a steady supply of food and drinkable water to survive. To do that, you can harvest coconuts from wild trees or plant your own crops. You will also need to build a base to sleep at night.

Crafting and Resources
Crafting is a core mechanic of the game, and you will need to constantly craft things such as axes and pickaxes to gather more resources. Your first objective is to craft a Simple Bed to sleep on the first night. For that, you will need to build the foundation of a base. Planks, stone, and rope are the first things you need to collect to craft your first tool: a Stone Axe.
To craft it, you will need to collect stones and planks scattered around the beach. You can punch bushes to collect leaves. First, craft a couple of ropes using the leaves. To start crafting, open your inventory and click on Ropes. Now, go to the Tools tab in the inventory and craft a Stone Axe. This is your primary tool to chop down trees in the first stage of the game.
Food and Water
In Survival Island, you will need to constantly eat and drink water to survive. You can find coconuts by chopping down trees and pineapples in bushes, which replenish both. However, you should prioritize crafting a Fishing Rod and start fishing to meet your food needs. Craft a grill to cook the fish.
For your water needs, first craft a Cup using the plastic you can find in the barrels on the starting island. You will need to craft a Simple Purifier to boil the salty water and get fresh water.
Survival Island: What To Craft First
To help you get a comfortable start in Survival Island, here are some tips and tricks:
- Collect every bit of plank, stone, scrap, and barrel you find on the beach. This will let you craft the first few items easily.
- Craft a Stone Axe first. It should be at the bottom of the Tools List.
- Then start with your base. Build the foundation and craft a bed.
- Craft a Simple Grill and a Simple Purifier next to meet your food and water needs.
- Now you can craft the fishing rod and start eating grilled fish.
- Build a raft after you have stored up some food and water in your inventory. You are ready to sail to new islands.
