The Cursed Child in Jump Showdown is the newest fight that you play. Added on July 27, 2025 alongside other new fighters, the Cursed Child is one of the few fighters that you can access for free. You can also decide to use the character in any mode without facing restrictions. The following guide should elaborate more about the character and its specific abilities. Cursed Child is a highly mobile fighter who can quickly unleash a volley of blows at enemies. However, their extreme speed doesn’t result in them dealing lower damage per hit. In fact, their special skill deals a significant amount of damage to foes when triggered at the right time. Even so, players will still need to develop a bit of skill to play the Cursed Child properly. The recovery window for the character’s specials are long enough to make their use difficult in neutral settings.

How To Unlock

You can unlock Cursed Child as a playable character by defeating the Cursed Child Boss, which spawns once every 17-20 minutes. This makes Cursed Child the only character that has an associated boss fight as their unlock requirement. For most other fighters, you’ll be able to play them by default, or you’ll need to shell out real-world money to access them.

Keep in mind that the Cursed Child Boss won’t spawn in a private server if you’ve used the PS+ commands. To make him reappear, you’ll have to exit the game completely, before joining the server back. Cursed Child in Jump Showdown: Moveset

The character has access to four special skills. In the normal state, you will be able to use these attacks to build up the Awakening gauge. When that gauge is full, you can unleash the Awakening mode, when the four special attacks will be replaced with other moves. Here are the four special attacks available to the Cursed Child:

Lethal Wound: Rush attack from long range. When it hits an enemy, it might trigger a combo attack.
Onslaught: Rush attack that throws the enemy away.
Fight: Rush attack with QTE. If you successfully complete the QTE, the move will deal bonus damage.
Bloody Mary: Combo attack that concludes with a downward stab.

After building up the Awakening gauge, you will finally enter the Awakening state, known as Since When Were You The One In Control. You will have only one special move in this state.
