Learn about the Monuments in Doors and how these deadly entities can impact your gameplay in the Great Outdoors Update.

The Great Outdoors Update is here in Doors with a brand new series of enemies focused around the outside subfloor of the Hotel. You can access the area from the Greenhouse Entrance (Door 90). The Great Outdoors is a collection of rooms in the open air resembling woodlands and gardens. Like other Doors updates, this one naturally includes new entities. And among them are the Monuments.
They are some of the more deadly entities in the latest update due to their stealthy nature. Unlike the Mandrake, which you can survive pretty easily once you know what they do, Monuments can end your run if you stop paying attention. In this article, we will explain how the new Monuments entity works in the Great Outdoors Doors update.

Everything You Need To Know About the Monuments Entity in Doors
Overview: Appearance

The popular first-person horror game always gets new entities during updates, and the Great Outdoors patch is no different. This area features a fair few NPCs, such as the ominous Groundskeeper, who can be friendly, or Grampy, who gives you the overpowered Lotus. The Monuments, however, are not friendly.
They will disguise themselves as obelisks in the Outdoors and move closer when you don’t have LOS (line of sight). They move closer and ultimately kill the player while unseen, just like the famous Weeping Angels from the Doctor Who series. If you are careful, you can spot these obelisk-like Monuments moving around using spider-like legs.
Tips on Surviving a Monument
The Great Outdoors is full of obelisks, with certain rooms containing multiples of them. There is a chance that any one of them can be a hostile Monument entity. Here is a list of tips and tricks you can try to identify and counter these entities.
- While Monuments look exactly like obelisks, you can identify them by listening for a heartbeat or breathing sounds.
- If you hear footsteps behind you that stop abruptly when you turn around, a Monument might be chasing you. Look around the room for any obelisk that looks out of place.
- Obelisks on the path and not on grass are almost always a Monument entity.
- Monuments on your path will remain passive if you keep them in your line of sight. So try to keep looking at one for as long as possible.
- Monuments will first stab you for 35 HP. But they can also crush and instantly kill you, so be careful.
- A monument will move faster the longer you do not look at it.
- The Groundskeeper NPC, if he is near you, will alert you to any entity following you.
