How Death Works in Pixel Quest
A major part of the beginner’s guide for Pixel Quest is understanding how death works in the game. Pixel Quest has a permadeath system, which means each time you die, you’ll lose your character and all its progression. Here are some thins you lose permanently upon dying:
- Your present character’s level progression.
- Any active quest progression.
- All items, equipped or otherwise (except those stored in the Vault).
However, the following things are tied to your account, and you won’t lose them after death.
- Permanent upgrades that apply to all your current and future characters.
- Special currency that you earn from character achievements.
- Cosmetics that you unlock during a playthrough.
- Items inside Vault storage.
After one of your character dies, you will also earn a special currency called Valor. The amount you earn will depend on how much you managed to achieve with the character in question.
How Does the Vault Work?
The Vault is a specialized storage where you can store your most valuable items. These remain safe even if you character perishes. So, placing an item in the Vault is a great way to share them with all of your future characters. You can plan ahead and store a wide range of high tier items for all your characters to use. However, keep in mind that the Vault only has 8 slots. You can spend 300 Robux to get 8 more of these slots.
Pixel Quest Combat
Pixel Quest has an intense combat system, where you’ll be under constant fire from enemies. We suggest dodging often to safeguard your character from taking damage. If your HP or Mana is low, you can recover both of them using potions or skills. From time to time, you’ll go up against bosses. When that happens, make sure you study their attack patterns to discover opportunities to strike.
When you begin a new run, you need to get two stacks of Healing and Mana potions each. To do this, simply proceed to the Beach location when you’ve leveled up a bit and acquired better weapons. The enemies here are easier to kill, and many of them will drop Healing and Mana Potions. While enemies in other sections also drop these items, they’re harder to tackle, and may cause more damage to you in the process.
Best Early Weapons
We suggest the following weapons early on in Pixel quest:
- Melee weapons, such as Broadsword, to clear regular enemies.
- Ranged weapons, such as a bow and arrow or staff, when dealing with bosses.

Is It Possible To Have Multiple Characters At Once?
You have a single character slot by default. If you want to unlock additional slots, you can do so by spending Robux.
Is There a Permadeath Free Mode?
While the game doesn’t have a mode without Permadeath at present, such a feature is on the way. Developers have already confirmed that certain future game modes won’t have the permadeath feature, allowing you to save your progression even if you die.
