The October 19, 2025, Story Update brought a new game mode to Plants Vs Brainrots with some exclusive Secret Brainrots that you can only get once you progress to the Desert Biome. Biomes not only change the appearance of your island but also make things more challenging by giving them more health. Certain Brainrots can only spawn once you get to the Desert Biome. How To Unlock the Desert Biome in Plants Vs Brainrots
To get to the Desert Biome, Plants Vs Brainrots have to complete the five Story Mode missions. After wave 25, which happens to be the final mission for the Orcalero Orcala storyline, you will get a variety of things, such as the Desert Biome. The initial biome is now titled Grasslands, and the new one looks very different. Instead of a green lawn, your garden transforms into a sandy yellow texture resembling the desert.
Apart from cosmetic changes, the gameplay also becomes harder in the Desert Biome. All units that spawn on the treadmill become Level II, which gives them bonus HP. With units significantly harder to defeat, you will need to upgrade your plants. At least one Secret-tier plant, such as the Shroombino or higher, is a must if you want to stand a chance at defeating some of the Secret Brainrots that spawn in the Desert Biome.
