On October 6, 2025, Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman announced the filing of a lawsuit against Roblox for child exploitation. The complaint also accused the popular gaming website of platforming violent games that simulate gruesome events, such as the shooting of Charlie Kirk.

Roblox, however, has responded to the Kentucky lawsuit in a statement to CBS and claimed that it is based on “out-of-context information” that is “sensationalized” and “out of date.” The company’s representative also noted that they are open to a collaborative partnership with the Kentucky Attorney General’s office to ensure user safety.

Lawsuit by Kentucky Attorney General Claims Roblox Is “A Hunting Ground for Child Predators”

Roblox has been facing several lawsuits from both private law firms and state governments over child safety on its platform. Earlier this year, the Attorney General of Louisiana filed a similar lawsuit, and the Oklahoma Attorney General’s office invited lawyers to submit their legal case against Roblox.

Kentucky AG Russell Coleman’s lawsuit is the latest in a long line of legal complaints accusing the gaming platform of not adequately protecting children on the platform from exploitation. The legal document openly claims that Roblox is a “hunting ground for child predators.” It also states that the platform has been “knowingly” failing to explain the risks to the predominantly minor user base and their caregivers. Here is a relevant accusation quoted from the lawsuit:

“Defendants repeatedly assure parents and the public that Roblox is safe for its user base of minors, but in reality, Roblox is a hunting ground for child predators, and Defendants fail to implement basic safety controls to protect child users. Moreover, despite their detailed knowledge of the dangers lurking on the Roblox platform, Defendants knowingly fail—through affirmative misrepresentation and selective omission—to inform Roblox users and their parents about the dangers inherent on the Roblox platform.”

In a statement on X, the Kentucky Attorney General asked parents to take their children off of Roblox, and wrote:

“Roblox is a nightmare scenario for parents like me. This company has sold out children’s safety for profit. We filed a lawsuit to come after Roblox with the full force of the law. My message to parents: get your kids off Roblox.”
