The Corrupted Kitsune is a new Prismatic-tier pet in Grow a Garden. Added during the Corrupted Event on July 26, 2025, it is perhaps one of the rarest pets in the game, with a very exclusive trait tied to the limited event. In this article, we will explore what exactly the Corrupted Kitsune does in Grow a Garden. We will also explain how you can obtain the rare pet for your collection.

Grow a Garden Pet Guide: Corrupted Kitsune Trait Explained

The Zen Event added various Japanese folklore-inspired pets, such as the Kitsune. For the second half of the event, the developers introduced the Corrupted Event, bringing several corrupted versions of these pets. The Corrupted Kitsune is the rarest one introduced in the latest patch and is tied to the ongoing event. The pet has the same model as the normal Kitsune, with an inverted color scheme. It can spread the Corrupt Mutation to plants in your garden.

Here is a detailed breakdown of the Corrupted Kitsune’s trait:

Every 20:53 minutes, the pet will launch cursed energy toward nine crops in your garden. Each of the nine crops has roughly a 20% chance to mutate with the Corrupt Chakra. There is a very rare chance for Corrupt Foxfire Chakra instead.

Considering you will need a lot of crops with the Corrupt Mutation during the Corrupted Event to get the rewards, this pet can come in very handy.

How To Get the Corrupted Kitsune Pet in Grow a Garden

As of the current version of Grow a Garden, players can get the Corrupted Kitsune pet in two ways:

Buy the Exotic Kitsune Chest from the limited Shop
Open the Kitsune Chest by doing the Kitsune Quest during the Corrupted Event

You will have to submit an even number of Tranquil and Corrupt crops to the Kitsune at the center of the map to get the Kitsune Chest. Follow these steps:

Harvest Tranquil and Corrupt Plants
Walk to the Kitsune at the center of the map
Hold out the respective plants and select the ‘Take the plant’ prompt

You will get the chest as part of the reward after submitting the required number of plants. There is a mere 1% chance of getting the Corrupted Kitsune pet when opening the chest, so you might need to open several chests unless you get very lucky.
