Grow a Garden Maneki-neko is an uncommon pet in the game. Let’s learn what it does and how you can obtain it.

Grow a Garden developers have released yet another exciting update. After the release of the Zen Update, a second part of it was released on July 26, 2025. The new update is called the Corrupted Event. It features new gameplay content, including new pets. This article will focus on the Maneki-neko, which is an uncommon-tier pet. Let’s learn what it does and how to get it.
What Is the Grow a Garden Maneki-neko?
The Maneki-neko, an Uncommon pet, was released in the Corrupted Update on July 26, 2025. It mimics a traditional Japanese lucky cat, sporting a white body, a red collar with a gold bell, and a raised left paw clutching a gold Koban coin on its forehead.
What Does the Maneki-neko Do?
The Maneki-neko has a unique passive ability called the Fortune Cat. When activated (every 2 minutes), it waves to invite good fortune, granting an 8% chance to refund fruit back to the player’s inventory for 10 seconds after selling. The refund chance is lower for rarer fruits, making it a valuable pet for resource management.
How To Obtain the Maneki-neko Pet
To obtain the Maneki-neko pet during the limited-time Corrupted Event (introduced in the Corrupted Update), follow these steps:
- Open the Kitsune Chest: You have a 34.5% chance to get the Maneki-neko from the Kitsune Chest, available during the Corrupted Event.
- Open the Exotic Kitsune Chest: You have a 34% chance to acquire the Maneki-neko from the Exotic Kitsune Chest, also available during the event.
If you’re wondering how to get the Kitsune Chest, go to the Kitsune NPC (located at the center of the map). Hold a Tranquil or Corrupt mutated fruit, approach the Kitsune NPC, press “E” to interact, and select the “Take this plant” option to submit it. Each fruit fills one segment of the corresponding gauge. Fruits with both Tranquil and Corrupt mutations fill a segment on both gauges.
Submit 5 Tranquil and 5 Corrupt fruits to fill both gauges. Once both are full, the gauges reset, and you receive a Kitsune Chest as a reward.
