Grow a Garden players can now get the Cockatrice pet as the Fairy Event is live in Grow a Garden. The new update adds a variety of fairy and myth-inspired items such as plants, pets, and mutations. Now that the Beanstalk event is over, the Fairy Island has taken over the center of the map, and you have to participate in the Fairy event if you want to get your hands on the new pets.

Pet Trait and Appearance
If you equip the Cockatrice pet in your garden, it can turn fruits silver or gold and can occasionally give crops the toxic mutation while also giving other pets extra XP and boosting egg hatch times. Here is a breakdown of the Cockatrice’s traits in Grow a Garden:
- Silver Screech: Every 16 minutes, nearby crops have a 20% chance of getting the Silver variant mutation or 1% chance of getting the Gold variant mutation.
- Venom Spit: Every 10 minutes Cockatrice will spit at five things. Affected crops will gain the Toxic mutation, eggs hatch time will advance by 81 seconds, and the pets will gain 800XP.
The Cockatrice is already quite overpowered, and pet mutations on it can make it even better.
How To Get the Cockatrice Pet
You have a 1% chance of getting the Cockatrice every time you hatch an Enchanted Egg. This is the new limited-edition egg of the Fairy Event in Grow a Garden. As such, you need to participate in the ongoing event to get the Enchanted Egg. The Cockatrice is the rarest pet you can get from the egg, so you will need to hatch as many of them as possible.
You can get the Enchanted Egg from the Fountain Rewards at the Fairy Event. Here is a breakdown of the drop chances:
