The latest Grow a Garden Update (Prehistoric Event Update) has seen some brand-new content for the ever-growing fan base. The game now features prehistoric-themed gameplay, new crops, and Dino-themed pets. One of the new pets that was added to the game is the Pterodactyl. It is a Legendary-tier pet that has two unique passive abilities.
This article will discuss what it does and how you can get this pet in the game.
Grow a Garden Pterodactyl Passive Abilities Explained
The Pterodactyl has two unique passive abilities that boost your gameplay. The two abilities are called Sky Reptile and Air Time.
- Sky Reptile: Occasionally applies the Windstruck mutation to multiple nearby fruits in your garden, with a small chance of applying the Twisted mutation instead. These mutations increase the value of crops when sold, with Windstruck boosting the selling price and Twisted being a rarer, more valuable mutation.
Windstruck mutation provides a 2x multiplier to the sale value of crops, and Twisted mutation provides a 5x multiplier. - Air Time: Grants a 14.39% increase to the player’s jump height. This improves mobility around the garden, making it easier to navigate and manage crops efficiently.
How to Get Pterodactyl in Grow a Garden
You can acquire the Pterodactyl via two methods. Let’s check them out.
Method 1: The first method is to trade at the Dinosaur Egg DNA station. All you have to do is trade a hatched pet from your inventory (make sure the pet is non-dinosaur). The submitted pet enters a 60-minute incubation period at the station. Once this process is done, you will receive a Dinosaur Egg.
Method 2: An alternative method to get the Pterodactyl is to complete the Prehistoric Quests. To complete the Prehistoric Quests, go to Blaire NPC at the Prehistoric Quest Stand, located near the garden area. Accept and complete Prehistoric quests, which involve tasks like planting specific crops, harvesting a set number of plants, or other farm-related objectives.
Some quests reward a Dinosaur Egg upon completion, though the drop rate is not guaranteed and depends on the quest’s difficulty.
