The Prehistoric Update in Grow a Garden has brought several dinosaur pets to the game, including the Raptor. The game model resembles the iconic depiction of raptors from the Jurassic Park franchise and is green. Do note that the in-game T-Rex also has a similar body type, but is an entirely different pet.

Grow a Garden is one of the most popular games on Roblox. The weekly updates, which add additional items, seeds, and pets, have been a major reason for its popularity. Several Roblox games have been releasing dinosaur-themed content this month, courtesy of Jurassic World Rebirth having released on July 4, 2025. While games like Fisch officially partnered with the movie studio, Grow a Garden’s Prehistoric Update is not a promo.

That said, one of the highlights of the update is the addition of dinosaur pets such as the Raptor. Besides looking very similar to the movie Raptors, this pet also helps your garden by sometimes imparting the Amber mutation to plants. It also helps you move around the map faster.

Traits

Here is a breakdown of all the traits of the Raptor pet in Grow a Garden:

Clever Claws: When this pet is in the garden, there is a 2-2.5% chance any fruit you harvest will gain the new Amber mutation. The mutation chance % increases as the Raptor grows older.
Raptor Dance: Having this pet equipped will give you a 14-14.5% walking speed boost. This also scales according to the pet’s level.

How To Get the Raptor Pet in Grow a Garden

You can get the Raptor dinosaur pet in Grow a Garden in two ways. Either by hatching the newly added Dinosaur Eggs or by using the DNA Converter. Every time you hatch a Dinosaur Egg, there is a 35% chance that you will get a Raptor.

You can obtain a Dinosaur Egg by exchanging an existing pet you have. Talk to Graham at the Prehistoric Event area in the middle of the map to do so.
