Where To Get Clay in RuneScape Dragonwilds
While Clay is available across various parts of the game’s world, you won’t find it in the starting regions, such as Temple Woods and Bramblemead Valley. That means you’ll have to progress through the initial areas and reach the regions where Clay is plentiful. The best source for it is the Whispering Swamp section of the map.
As you’d expect, Clay mostly exists near water bodies. Even though you can explore the Whispering Swamp early on, we suggest progressing far enough that you’ve cleared the goblin main camp in the Bramblemead section of the map. The Whispering Swamp area has some powerful enemies, so make sure you stock up on healing items before heading there.
In the region, the western and eastern sides are the best places to look for Clay. You will discover Clay nodes all around this section. Use a pickaxe to gather Clay from the nodes. Or, if you have the Rocksplosion ability unlocked, you can use that to gather the resource faster.

How To Use Clay in RuneScape Dragonwilds
Clay is a useful resource to possess for various reasons. Firstly, Clay is necessary to make the Furnace. The Furnace is an important crafting upgrade that enables you to create more advanced and powerful items in the game. You can fire up the Furnace to smelt the tin and copper ores you find in the world to create Brass ores.
Besides this, Clay is also important if you’re trying to make vessels for your potions. Take the Clay to the Pottery Wheel to give it the shape of a vessel. Then, use a Kiln to fire those vessels into their hardened forms. You can craft potions at the Brewing Cauldron when you have such vessels in your inventory. These potions are key when facing the tougher enemies in the game.
Operating the Kiln also produces Charcoal, which is another essential item you will need to operate the Furnace. So, you must have a considerable amount of Clay on you at all times.
