5 Scariest Ultimates in Marvel Rivals

Here is a short list of the scariest Ultimate Abilities in Marvel Rivals among all 35 heroes on the roster yet.

Not all Ultimate Abilities in Marvel Rivals are overpowered. We can see that the game has balanced the roster in such a way that each hero is “overpowered” in their own sense and require careful counters. But what about their Ultimates? We think there are some Ultimates that are scarier than others.

Your list might not align with our views because it’s a subjective experience to fear an Ultimate. Almost each Ultimate can be countered. If you can’t counter it, there are ways to avoid it or reduce its impact. But the list will be filled with the abilities that make us sweat when we hear audio cues related to them.

1. Scarlet Witch

This is an Ultimate that can either be completely useless or devastating based on how strategically you use it. The Scarlet Witch has the power to “one shot” enemies when she screams, “Pure chaos!” Sure, you can shoot her down or stop her Ultimate with Peni Parker’s help. But teaming up with Doctor Strange to enter through a portal can prove incredibly fruitful.

Whenever I hear an enemy Scarlet Witch powering up her Ultimate, I retreat immediately and ask my teammates to do the same. Unless you are confident in your shot, there’s no point in trying to take her down, especially if she’s backed up by a healer.

2. Iron Fist

When I mention this character having one of the scariest Ultimates in the game, I don’t credit the insta-DPS locks; instead, I credit those who have really practiced hard with Iron Fist. Lin Lie can obliterate enemy lines when he activates his Ultimate. As soon as you hear “Qiguanchanghong!” I suggest that you run for your life and deal damage from a distance. He can also move pretty fast and has the triple-jump ability. So, even if you are playing as Storm or Iron Man, you are not really safe from this guy.

3. Winter Soldier

The Winter Soldier in Marvel Rivals is not very MCU-accurate if that’s what you were expecting. He was subjected to some eldritch Hydra experiments. This gave him some new powers, including his Ultimate. If I am fighting the Winter Soldier 1v1 and he jumps high up and screams, “Armed and dangerous!” I try to evacuate the area as soon as possible.

Even as a Vanguard, you are not really safe from the wrath that follows. Your best bet is to vacate the area of effect and not let the afflicted teammates die. Because if Winter Soldier kills your afflicted teammates, he will be able to do his Ultimate “Again!” If he has a good pocket healer to back him up, he can clear the entire lobby just with his Ultimate.

4. Psylocke

This is another character who looks completely different in Marvel Rivals compared to her movie counterpart. But that doesn’t stop Psylocke from having an incredible Ability Kit. When you are not getting mauled by the enemy Psylocke during the match, you can get caught up in her Ultimate.

Hearing “Cho no mai o kurae” always makes me fear for my character because her Ultimate can potentially one-shot me. How it is worse than Wanda’s ultimate is that Psylocke continues to eliminate people during her Butterfly Dance and can also move a little from where she started without losing HP.

5. Loki

Laufeyson has to be the scariest Strategist of all. His Ability Kit gives him an advantage over others of his kind. The best part about Loki is his Ultimate, I think. NetEase did a great job at making us feel like a true trickster God when they picked Loki’s Ultimate Ability. If you don’t already know, he can copy any character he sees!

Whether on the enemy team or his own, Loki can use his Ultimate to copy any character that he aims at. Now, this only takes place for a few seconds, but what’s even better is that this “copy” comes with a filled Ultimate Charge. So, hearing “Your powers are mine!” isn’t the most pleasant of feelings that I experience in a match because it suggests that some chaos is incoming.
