After lots of buildup, the Smugglers faction has finally arrived and has discreetly established strongholds all over the map. These hideouts are hidden and spread all over the map. In Season 17, your goal is to find these elusive hideouts and interact with the Smugglers to obtain new Smuggler Voyages

The Smugglers all come with their own exclusive quests and voyages, which are your main content for the season. You’ll have to smuggle paintings, alcohol, black power barrels, and more.

Black Powder Barrels

Black Powder Barrels are a new cargo item coming in Sea of Thieves Season 17. You’ll acquire these barrels as cargo to smuggle from the Smugglers, and can go about smuggling them, but there’s a lot more to these barrels than just that. The Black Powder Barrels are the most potent explosives in the game, and can instantly turn any area into ash. There are a lot of interesting combat possibilities with this one, but be careful not to hurt yourself.

Smuggler Shipwrecks

If you have the courage to face what’s under the surface, there’s plenty new to discover in Sea of Thieves Season 17. Smuggler Shipwrecks are spread all across the ocean bed, and finding them gives you access to never-before-seen treasure. These treasures include the Skull of Siren Sorrow, the Horn of Fair Winds, the Obsidian Ashen Wind Skull, and more.

The second month of Season 17 will bring the Smuggler’s Heist limited-time event. In this event, you will compete against other players to smuggle valuable treasure and return it back to the Smuggler’s League. The devs promise that the rewards for this will be extremely valuable, but haven’t gone into any details yet.

Flameheart’s Forts

The final month of Season 17 will bring in new forts for you to conquer. Flameheart’s forces have taken over several forts on the map. Your goal is to liberate these forts, but don’t expect it to be a walk in the park. Fleets of ghost ships will protect these forts, and should you manage to make it inland, traps are ripe to devour you.
