Robbin’ ’ooD in Dragon Quest 3 Remake stole the King’s crown and you can choose to let him go after defeating him.
The Dragon Quest 3 perfected the RPG fundamentals all the way back in 1988 despite technological limitations, and the Remake follows the same suit. Player choice, freedom of customization, and exploration are at the heart of any sound RPG, and Dragon Quest 3 Remake walks a thin line, balancing all three perfectly.
Player choice, in particular, is well incorporated into the game’s narrative, with its earliest example displayed in the early game with Robbin’ ‘ooD. The King’s crown has gone missing, seemingly stolen. Investigation into the matter leads you to the doorstep of Robbin’ ‘ooD. Instead of handing the crown over as a law-abiding citizen, the thief picks a fight. The character is one of the first bosses you’ll face in the game and is also the first to seemingly present a dilemma: should you let Robbin’ ‘ooD go?
In this guide, we shall go over the burning question of whether you should let Robbin’ ‘ooD go or punish him.
Let Robbin’ ‘ooD Go in Dragon Quest 3 Remake
As you investigate the King’s missing crown, you find all the clues leading to Robbin’ ‘ooD. When you confront him about the stolen artifact, the thief makes a grand escape while entrapping you in his basement. Head out of his basement and meet him outside his den, and the thief will be enraged. This will kick off a boss fight, and you have to defeat Robbin’ ‘ooD and his minions. The boss fight is a standard affair. Pick off the minions before focusing on Robbin’ ‘ooD and finishing him off.
After you beat the thief, Robbin’ ‘ooD will admit defeat and will agree to giving up the crown should you let him go. If you click on ‘Yes’ and agree to let him go, the thief will give up the prized crown. The thief and his crew will barely get time to breathe as a knight will spot them, and the bunch will jump across the wall to make another grand escape.
What if You Refuse To Let Robbin’ ’ooD Go?
If you refuse to let Robbin’ ‘ooD go, the thief will beg and plead his case, promising to turn a new leaf if let go. He will repeatedly beg till you agree to let him go. After you do so, things will play out in a similar way, and the rugged band of thieves will make their escape.
