Michael Grzesiek, better known by his gaming and online alias, “Shroud,” has spoken out about his “biggest complaint” with the Call of Duty franchise. Shroud is one of the most popular FPS content creators, who professionally played Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for the North American team Cloud9.

Being a veteran of the genre, Shroud discussed the aspects of the Call of Duty franchise that he “hated” during a recent Black Ops 6 livestream. While the Canadian expressed dissatisfaction with the Call of Duty progression system, he stated that the system compels players to be the “worst version of themselves” until they eventually unlock something “good.”

Furthermore, Shroud wished Call of Duty would include a game mode, that has everything unlocked from the beginning. He went on to say that he would play this speculated game mode “every day.”

Shroud Opens Up About The Things He “Hates” About Call Of Duty Games

In a 46-second video posted on X, Shroud was seen playing the Vorkuta map in Call of Duty Black Ops 6, where he decided to share what he “hates” about the first-person shooter series. The 30-year-old said:

“My biggest complaint about games like this, and I know it’s the whole point, and you guys are going to think I’m crazy. But, I hate unlocking stuff. It’s like, ‘Hey, be the worst version of yourself until you finally get something good.’ And then, level that good thing up until you have all the best things, and now and only now, are you the best version of yourself. Oh, but wait! You just unlocked the other gun. Oh, but the other gun’s better! But you’ve got to get all the attachments. Just, like, bro! You know? That part of the game.”

Shroud added:

“I know, like, that’s the whole point. But it really, like, I just wish I had all the stuff. Like, I wish there was a mode that had, ‘Unlock all.’ And I’d just play it every day. Because I’m not a fan of like, ‘Oh, sweet! I got a new grip!'”
