Shroud’s month-long “Fragathon” charity event concluded successfully, raising over $1 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Popular streamer and former professional eSports player Michael “Shroud” has concluded his month-long “Fragathon” event. The streamer pledged to donate $1 for every in-game kill or “frag” during his streams and had additional donations from the community. The total in-game kills amounted to 253,864 frags, which amounts to $253,864.
The streamer’s event ended up raising over 1 million dollars after all the donations and the ad revenue. Shroud will be donating the money to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in honor of his late father who passed away due to cancer.

The Fragathon was supposed to be a month-long streaming marathon but was paused mid-way due to the LA wildfires. The setup featured multiple LAN PCs for streamers to come in and donate “frags”.
In addition to the frags, the streamer stated that all the Twitch subs, donations, and bits will be put towards the charity event. Streamers, including Ludwig, CaseOh, Tarik, and many more joined Michael in raising the Frag amounts. The event also featured Fuslie, for giving Shroud a special haircut during his stream.
The streamer also mentioned that if the donation counter reached a million dollars, he would launch an esports organization dedicated to Marvel Rivals. Shroud had previously shown interest in creating a team for the game, which led to several professional teams reaching out to him. Once the donation goal was met, Shroud confirmed that the organization would become a reality. During his stream, Michael stated:
“To any esports team that has reached out to us in the past week because, I know you guys have been hearing talks of an org…at this point, it is happening. Send emails send messages, whatever you’ve got, we will respond. Let’s try to make this thing happen, lets start up a Marvel Rivals team.”
