Michael Grzesiek, popularly known as Shroud, recently announced that he will be hosting a charity subathon named “Fragathon.”
Shroud is a popular Twitch streamer and former professional CS:GO player who recently announced that he will be hosting a charity subathon in honor of his father. On January 3, 2025, he announced the “Fragathon” subathon, where he would donate money to those who need it for curing cancer.
Shroud took to X to announce that the subathon, which will start on January 5, 2025, will be slightly different from the others. He stated:
“You guys may have heard that I am doing a subathon. But this one is going to be a little bit different. Last year I lost my dad to cancer and ever since I have looking for ways I can support people who are going through similar situations. So, we came up with the Fragathon.”
Shroud said that a number of creators would be participating in the subathon, and he would be assigning them certain challenges. He also said that he might donate a million dollars of his own. He said:
“My goal here is to donate, I don’t know how much money. It could be a hundred thousand dollars, it could be two hundred thousand dollars, it could be five hundred thousand dollars, could be a million dollars of my own money. I don’t know. I don’t know how much it’s going to get to, but that’s kind of the game plan.”
There Will Be Several FPS Games During Shroud’s Subathon
Anyone who follows the FPS gaming community knows about Shroud. He has gained a massive following over the years, and his fans have been loyal throughout. He has over 11 million followers on his Twitch channel.
With Shroud’s reputation in the FPS community, a number of notable content creators in the community will take part in the subathon. The subathon will also include a number of FPS games, with challenges based on in-game metrics. He said:
“Part of the marathon stream that we’re doing is, we’re going to involve as many first person shooters, or just shooter players in general that want to participate, and we’re going to play all sorts of different games, and they’re going to be doing challenges. They’re going to be doing certain things on their streams, and as they tally up their eliminations or whatever the challenges might be that I give to them, I will donate money.”
At the end of the Fragathon stream, 100% of the proceeds will be going to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. To watch the stream, tune into his Twitch channel throughout the month of January.
