In this Sniper Elite Resistance walkthrough guide, we shall go over the mission, Sonderzuge Sabotage, and how to complete it.
Sniper Elite Resistance follows the story of Harry Hawker as he attempts to disrupt the plans of the Nazis and put an end to their operations. Following the encounter with Vertigo, Hawker has learned that the Nazis are building a secret super weapon, one that can turn the tides of the war in Hitler’s favor. With very little information to go on and a world-ending threat now looming on the horizon, it is up to Hawker and the Allies to uncover the secret of this deadly superweapon.
The game’s third mission, Sonderzuge Sabotage, sends you on the hunt for information on this super weapon. The stakes are higher than ever, and the mission difficulty reflects that. Sonderzuge Sabotage Walkthrough
You begin the mission in a courtyard, with the hotel and the train station as your destination. Follow the path along the courtyard, up the flight of stairs, till you’re greeted by a gorgeous skyline. Don’t let the view distract you, and pull out your binoculars to tag the guards in the garden and road down below. Make your way towards skyline and past the guard on the road. A truck will pass down this road in a moment, so we do not recommend killing the guard as it could leave you exposed. Sneak past and continue on towards the left till you reach a dimly lit building. Another guard will be on duty here. Sneak past him and take the flight of stairs leading below.
Cross of Lorraine Letter
Head down below and take the road leading right till you find the path splitting and leading down via another staircase. Take the stairs down, and then take a U-turn into the alley behind you. The building at the end of this alley has a ladder attached to it. Climb the ladder and head up to the roof, and then further up and along the side of the building using parkour. Drop into the balcony. Kill the guard inside, and then loot the office to find the Cross of Lorraine letter. Use the zipline in the balcony, which will then drop you on the catwalk underneath the big bridge.
Killing Claude La Ronde
Guards are stationed across the bridge and are operating the spotlights. Stick to the edges and make it to the end of the bridge using the various crates as cover. You will find a bolt cutter along the way. Right before the end, you will find a ladder dropping down below. Use the ladder to head to the lower level, and follow the route down right. You will find a giant warehouse along this path, which has resources you can collect. Patrolling the area around this path is Claude La Ronde, one of the targets you must kill. Lure him in with a whistle to kill him and complete the objective.
Find the Missing Resistance Cell
Exit the area and climb to the main road above using any of the ladders along the path. Beware that trucks pass through the roads, and they can spot you if you’re not careful. Once the coast seems clear, cross the road and head into the gardens ahead. Use the foliage as cover and continue on to the department store in front of you. Sneak past the guard inside, and exit from the other end. Climb the building on your left using pipes, and enter in through the window to find the missing Resistance Cell.
The Hotel Superweapon Clue #1
Head back down the way you came, and continue on ahead towards the main road and the hotel. Along the hotel perimeter is a small path blocked by wooden panels. Dismantle the panels to use the path and enter the hotel premises.
Enter the hotel through the gate in front of you and take the wing on the right. Follow along the path till it converges back into the main lobby. Behind the cash register, you will find the penthouse key. Take the key, climb over the counter, and quickly rush and drop down the elevator shaft on your left. Follow the path underground till you reach a secret war room, and take a picture of the blueprints to find the first clue of the superweapon.
The Hotel Superweapon Clue #2
Head back up the shaft and take the stairs to the next floor above. Follow along the hallway and make your way to the western wing. Here, you will find another staircase leading above. Go up, and then head to the eastern wing to find the next flight of stairs. On this floor, make your way to the opposite end once again till you reach an open elevator. Inside this elevator, you will find a Silenced K98k.
Loot the weapon and continue down the hallway till you reach a dead end. There will be a room to your right. Enter the room and climb out the window on the southern end. Use the pipe next to you to reach the uppermost floor, and then jump in through the open window.
A guard will be patrolling the floor. Lure him in with a whistle and finish him off before heading out into the hall. Take a right, and continue on forward till you reach the penthouse. Use the penthouse key you picked up earlier to enter the room. A single guard patrols this room. Kill him and pick up the document on the center table to find the final clue about the dreaded superweapon.
Towards the Train Station
Exit out onto the balcony and latch onto the zipline ahead to reach the gardens below. Make your way through the gardens, sticking to the walls on the right, and reach the main road. Be wary of trucks as you do so. Once the coast is clear, cross the road and head into the alleys ahead. Passing through the alleys, you will run into a locked door. Use the bolt cutter to pry the lock open, and continue on forward. Climb the ladder ahead and reach the upper level. Follow the road straight to reach the station. The station entrance is guarded, but has a fair share of vehicles parked around it which provide sufficient cover. Using the trucks as cover, enter the station.
The Train Station
Enter the station lobby, and take any of the twin flight of stairs to reach the level above. A guard patrols the waiting room ahead, so be cautious. Kill the guard and loot the container in the northeastern corner of the room to get the Silenced Gewehr 43 and some Soft Point Ammo. Enter the study room beside the waiting room to find the Cargo Transportation documents.
Head back out the way you came, and take a left from the main lobby exit. Follow the road straight and past the boom barriers till you reach the platforms. The locomotive transporting the cargo is right at the center. This locomotive is a threat to the resistance and must be destroyed. Since this area has very little cover, we recommend going prone and sticking to the edges of the railway tracks to get past guards. Do not go for kills, as the sheer number of guards is too much to handle. Sneak past the guards and make your way to the locomotive and plant a satchel charge on the locomotive to destroy it. Once that’s done, use any of the exfiltration points to complete the mission.
