Maximum Security is the final mission in chapter 6 of Split Fiction. The story takes place deep in Mio’s subconscious and involves solving various puzzles. In this guide, we’ll explore how you can complete the Maximum Security mission in Split Fiction easily. We’ll also provide the solution to all of the puzzles in this section of the game.
How To Begin Maximum Security Mission in Split Fiction?
The Maximum Security mission starts after you complete the prisoner cell block puzzle. At the end of this puzzle, both Mio and Zoe will be inside the cell block. A cutscene will start playing as the cell block moves to the inner parts of the facility. Mio will explain that she has an uneasy feeling about wherever they are going. This makes sense because the entire chapter takes place in her subconscious, and they are moving ever so deeper with every step they take. Mio seems afraid to discover what lies at the end.
Just then, the mysterious prisoner’s voice rings out in the cell block. The voice claims that Mio knows her. She was once a part of Mio, and it was Mio herself who decided to imprison this part of her. The voice does not give away any more details as the cell block reaches the Maximum Security area, and the mission begins.
Maximum Security Mission Guide
Go down the stairs where the level begins and follow the linear path forward. You have to engage in some routine platforming and wall-running sections to progress through. Then, you’ll come across a few areas with lasers. Time your jumps and movements carefully to avoid touching the lasers, some of which will move around too.
Next, you’ll find a cellblock and a terminal right by it. One of the players should operate the terminal to open the doors of the cell block. The other player has to go in, while the first player has to use the terminal to lock their partner inside. Doing so will progress you to the next area. Once there, unlock the cell block to release your partner and move forward.
Here, you’ll come across the first proper puzzle of the mission.
1st Puzzle
A green magnetic field lies in front of you, but lasers block the path. Before Zoe can use the magnetic field, Mio will need to activate the terminal at the far end. Here are the steps to follow when solving this puzzle.
- Step 1: Have Mio deactivate the laser on the magnetic field so Zoe can cross over.
- Step 2: After Zoe crosses, Mio will use the same device to rotate a platform. The platform has to be in place for Zoe to climb on top of it.
- Step 3: Zoe will reach a magnet field where she needs to float, as Mio rotates the platform enough to make a way for her partner in between the lasers.
Zoe will then unfurl a platform for Mio to join her and progress through the next part of the level. The two will soon drop down a slope while jumping to avoid the lasers there. In one of these sections, Zoe will turn into a mechanical rat for a while. After that, you’ll finally reach the area for the next puzzle.

2nd Puzzle
In this puzzle, Mio will hack into a device that can reveal the position of lasers near it. Zoe, on the other hand, will need to navigate the room full of lasers by staying close to the hacked device. Straying too far ahead before the device can catch up will result in Zoe running into one of the many lasers here. Keep in mind that many of those laser beams are moving around, so timing will be crucial for both partners to move past this puzzle. After going through the room, you’ll finally find a way out.
Then, you’ll move forward until you reach an elevator that’ll take you up when both partners step on each of the yellow glowing triggers. As soon as you reach the top, though, you’ll be greeted with a giant laser cannon that will shoot lasers at you. Move sideways quickly to avoid the laser. You will also need to jump across some of the broken-down sections of the platform.
Finally, you’ll find a way towards the cannon and move that way. As the two close in, Mio will hack into and take control of the laser cannon. Zoe will reach a circular platform. This is the start of the final puzzle of this mission.
3rd Puzzle
The final puzzle of the Maximum Security mission in Split Fiction involves Mio using the laser cannon to burn the ring at the edge of the circular platform. As Mio does so, Zoe will have to move away any obstacles that block Mio’s path. Two robots will also appear here, and Zoe will have to quickly take them down before they can impede Mio. Continue burning through the outer ring until the cutscene plays. The mission ends and brings Zoe and Mio face to face with the final boss of the chapter.
