Albacore is a seasonal fish in Stardew Valley that can be caught to complete several quests, produce roe, and cook dishes. One of the 70 fish you can catch in the game is Albacore. It prefers the temperature at the edges where cool and warm waters meet. Let’s discuss these fish, how to catch them, and their best uses.

Albacore can be caught on the Beach Farm or at The Beach. The Pelican Town Beach is located on the southern end of the map. Remember to carry a fishing rod as you make your way to the shore. If you need the fish immediately, it can also be bought from the Traveling Cart or Krobus’ shop on Wednesdays.

When To Catch Albacore

Albacore is only available to catch during the Fall and Winter months, from 6 am to 11 am, and 6 pm to 2 am. While the timing is restricted to mornings and evenings, thankfully, there aren’t any weather requirements to catch Albacore. You can catch Albacore during any season at any time when using Magic Bait.

Albacore Uses in Stardew Valley

You can catch Albacore in three different quests:

  • Fish Stew: Gus wants Albacore sent by mail on the 26th of Winter for a reward of 400g and 1 Friendship point.
  • Help Wanted: Willy requests between 1 and 4 Albacore on a notice outside Pierre’s General Store. He rewards you with 75g for each catch but you get to keep the fish.
  • Aquatic Overpopulation: At the Special Orders Board, Demetrius asks you to catch 10 Albacores during Fall in return for selling the fish at market price, and the Farm Computer recipe.

Placing Albacore in a Fish Pond can be a source of income as they produce Roe almost daily. One unit of Roe sells for 67g. If you use Preserves Jars and create Aged Roe, it can sell from 134g to 187g for artisan prices. You can use Albacore to make blue dyes using dye pots. Additionally, using Albacore in the spool of the Sewing Machine creates a dyeable Sailor Shirt. The following recipes can use Albacore or any other fish as an ingredient:
