Sultan’s Game is a hot new game that has taken Steam by storm. Developed by Double Cross and published by 2P Games, Sultan’s Game is an intriguing hybrid of card-based simulation and resource management games and also incorporates choices and consequences into the mix.

If the game’s unique style of gameplay wasn’t enough to hook you in, Sultan’s Game takes you into the dreamy nights of One Thousand and One Nights. The story takes from the classic tales and follows an all-powerful Sultan throwing difficult (and quite frankly horrifying) tasks at his minions for entertainment. You happen to be a minister stuck in this horrifying game and must fulfill the Sultan’s tasks to avoid execution.

Sultan’s Game’s premise may seem simple at a glance, but it is quite complex once you get going. In this guide, we shall explore the Sultan’s Game premise in-depth and discuss how to play the game.

Sultan’s Game throws you into a setting by the classic tale, One Thousand and One Nights. You play as a minister under the Sultan, who is now over all the wealth and power he has. A magician approaches the Sultan with a game that lets him re-experience his power, kicking off the Sultan’s Game. This cruel game sees the mad Sultan hand out tasks weekly that need to be done within 7 days. Should you fail to do so, you face execution.

The tasks given are determined by drawing one of four cards. These cards are as follows:

  • Carnality: Carnality demands indulgence in carnal desires
  • Extravagance: Extravagance commands extreme spending
  • Conquer: Conquer drives perilous adventures
  • Bloodshed: Bloodshed craves human sacrifice

These cards come in different ranks (silver, gold, etc.), and drawing a card prompts an event. You then have to place the Sultan, the card, and the target of the card (same as the card rank or higher) in their respective slots to kick off the event. Once done, click on ‘End Day’, and you will then get to see pieces of the story.

How the story unfolds depends on the targets you pick and the cards you get. For instance, for a Bloodshed card, the story will change depending on who you choose to sacrifice. Keep proceeding through events with different cards to see the story unfold. As you keep going forward, the tasks get tougher and require more strategy.
