Carbine is a gunslinger hunter in Supervive with high burst damage potential. He excels at wearing down enemies under powerful salvos and using terrain along with his abilities to stun vulnerable foes. His kit rewards players with good aim, smart positioning, and an understanding of when to combo abilities for maximum burst.

In this guide, we’ll break down Carbine’s full ability set and how to use each skill to outplay enemies and secure eliminations.

How To Use Carbine’s Abilities in Supervive

Carbine’s passive ability is ‘Enmity Core.’ It resets the cooldown of Thrusters (L SHIFT) when XT3 Heavy Blaster (LMB) shots strike enemy hunters

XT3 Heavy Blaster (LMB)

Tapping the left mouse button fires three shots of Carbine’s blaster before reloading another salvo. The first round of each salvo deals bonus damage at long range. When using the blaster in combination with other abilities, hold down the left mouse button to achieve maximum rate of fire.

This is especially useful while employing Thrusters (L Shift) as Carbine gets an extra empowered shot after the ability, and holding down the trigger fires off four shots continuously rather than three.

Percussive Burst (RMB)

Deals burst damage and knocks back enemies in a cone after half a second of charging up the attack. Enemies who hit terrain after being knocked back are stunned. The ability has a kiting application, pushing back advancing enemies.

However, for maximum effect, use it in conjunction with Carbine’s dash, finding an angle to knock an enemy into terrain, stunning and unloading four bullets into them.

Thrusters/Jetpack (L Shift)

Pressing the Left Shift causes Carbine to dash in the direction he is facing, gaining an additional empowered shot of the XT3 Heavy Blaster (LMB) that slows the target. Using the Left Shift in the air activates Carbine’s jetpack, allowing him to cross over short objects. As with Thrusters, this variant of the dash also benefits from a slowing, empowered shot. Both dashes have separate cooldowns, giving Carbine high mobility and two extra blaster bullets.

Shocktrap Drone (Q)

Pressing the “Q” key launches a long-range drone that provides vision as it flies. Press “Q” again to detonate the drone and deploy a semicircle of four electric fields forming a concave arc toward you. When the drone detonates, any enemies within the circle under it are slowed. Targets coming into contact with one of the electric fields are stunned, eliminating that field.

The Shocktrap Drone is an excellent tool to catch fleeing enemies or for knocking back targets into the electric fields with Percussive Burst. With its long range, you can also use it to initiate engagements with an enemy squad, limiting their movement.

Overkill Rounds (R)

Press the “R” key to overcharge the XT3 Heavy Blaster. The next two shots from the blaster will deal heavy damage, pierce multiple targets at long range, and create vision where the projectile terminates. Downing or killing hunters refunds one charge of Overkill Rounds when the ultimate is active. The ideal time to activate Overkill Rounds is after stunning an opponent with Percussive Burst or the Shocktrap Drone to easily land both overcharged shots.
