Age of Excuse is a mission in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon that might be a bit confusing for players. Here’s a quick guide.
There is a quest called Age of Excuse in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon. It is a peculiar quest when you run into it for the first time. It’s completely optional, and you can skip it if you want. However, if you wish to obtain a Soulstone and 900 XP, you have come to the right place.
The objective of the quest is pretty simple: find a knight and help him out by giving him a potion. To save you from wandering the map, we have created this guide.
Completing Age of Excuse in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon
To begin the quest, you will have to visit Berach, who is the quest giver for Age of Excuse. Players can find him in the Horns of the South region. He is sitting under the bridge right above King’s Road. When you approach him, he will tell you about his curse. He is too paranoid. So, you must be kind to him. When talking to him, the first couple of dialogues don’t make that big of a difference, but after a few exchanges, take note of the following replies that you need to opt for:
- “If you’re so afraid, maybe you really should stay here.”
- “About the curse – Where did it come from?”
- “Can I help you in any way?”
- “No problem, I’ll return with an answer.”
Your questions will lead you near the Horns of the South fortress. It is located southwest of the King’s Road. Now, you must travel south from this fortress to the Druidic Shrine on the beach. Follow along the shore and head west from the shrine until you find a caved-in spot on a cliff where the Druid Drest is resting. He is a bit sarcastic, so keep asking about the curse. You may need to give him some food through a dialogue option first. He will then reveal that there is no curse. The Knight Berach is paranoid so, you must create the Disgusting Health Potion as a placebo to help him.
How To Make the Disgusting Health Potion
The potion can be made with three ingredients: Spirit (2), Sage (5), and Grindylow Tooth (1). Players can obtain the first two items through any alchemist or by searching in the Horns of the South fort. For Grindylow Tooth, however, you must kill Grindylows. A tooth is not dropped frequently. Try visiting Archspire, and you will find a couple of Grindylows there. They are not difficult to kill. Once dead, they may drop a tooth, which is all you need. Visit an alchemy table and craft this potion. Now, you must go back to Berach and give him the potion.
