Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon can often feel like an RPG inspired by the Elder Scrolls games. However, it draws inspiration from other sources as well. For instance, the game has a bonfire mechanic that will immediately remind you of the Dark Souls games. These bonfires are strewn all across the map, and interacting with them allows you to rest, cook, and engage in several other activities. And, like the Dark Souls games, you can fast travel using the bonfires.

However, fast travelling isn’t free. You’ll need to spend Ethereal Cobwebs every time you want to traverse across the map using one of these bonfires. Apart from use in fast travel, the Ethereal Cobwebs also allow you to identify items at bonfires, which might reveal a powerful weapon or ingredient. So, you’ll need to gather as much of the cobwebs as you can. In this guide, we’ll explore exactly how you can get Ethereal Cobwebs in Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon.

The game offers various ways for you to collect the Ethereal Cobwebs. Listed below are all of these methods.

  • From Wyrd enemies: In the second region of the game, you’ll run into enemies who are infected with Wyrdness. You can easily identify them by their strange way of walking and their resemblance to zombies. Kill them and loot their bodies for a chance to get some Ethereal Cobwebs.

  • From Ethereal deposits: These are rare deposits that you might find while exploring the game world. If you run into one of these deposits, you will get 10x Ethereal Cobwebs from it.

  • From enemies when Wyrdness is active: Wyrdness is a mysterious fog that usually appears at night and deforms all creatures that it touches. When this state is active, killing animals and other enemies might lead them to drop Ethereal Cobwebs.

This last method is the best way to farm the item. Simply go to the bonfire and rest until the clock turns yellow, indicating the start of Wyrdness. Then, go out into the world and kill as many enemies and animals as possible. Almost every one of them will drop Ethereal Cobwebs.

There are four major uses for the Ethereal Cobwebs that you collect in the game. These are:

  • Fuel bonfires: Ethereal Cobwebs are necessary to fuel or activate bonfires in the game. Only fueled bonfires allow for rest, fast travel, and other activities.

  • Fast travelling: You can fast travel from one bonfire to another using Ethereal Cobwebs. Keep in mind that fast travelling between checkpoint beacons doesn’t require the item.

  • Identify items: Some items you pick up in the game will have question marks on them. To understand what these do and realize their true potential, you will need to identify them at bonfires using Ethereal Cobwebs.

  • Required in quests: Certain quests in the game require Ethereal Cobwebs to complete.
