The Irrational Hatred quest in Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon revolves around a keeper dealing with the nuisance of seagulls. 

As you interact with NPCs throughout Avalon, you will unlock new quests and rewards. The Irrational Hatred is one of the series of quests, where you help the keepers at the fortress, such as Mom’s Finest Pie, The Warmest Coat, and Pain Relief.

Most require obtaining a recipe, making the item, and delivering it to the keepers. One similar quest is Irrational Hatred or (Ir) Rational Hatred, which follows a chain of quests. In this quest, you help a keeper deal with his seagull problem by making a unique mask. This guide walks you through the steps of the Irrational Hatred quest in Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon.

Speak With Keeper Gwylan To Start the Quest

The Irrational Hatred takes place at the Horns of the South fortress. Interact with Keeper Gwylan to initiate the quest. You can find him at a bridge on top that connects two towers. Speak with him to learn about his intense aversion and hatred towards Seagulls. Troubled by their constant nuisance, Gwylan needs your help to get rid of those birds and directs you to Rhydderic for further assistance. 

Learn About the Seaguller’s Mask From Rhydderic

You will find Rhydderic at the museum, which is located in the central building. Interact with the Captain’s Quarters to enter the museum and find Rhydderic inside. During the conversation, he mentions that keepers from the past (Seagullers) used specially designed masks to scare those birds. After the conversation, he provides you with Seaguller’s Mask recipe. 

Craft the Seaguller’s Mask and Give It To Keeper Gwylan

You can craft the Seaguller’s Mask at the Grindstone, which can be found near Osbryh. To craft the mask, you need:

• 2x Leather – obtained from a wooden rack at the fortress. It can also be crafted at the Grindstone using animal pelts.  
• 2x Feathers – Obtained from the human enemies with bows.

Alternatively, you can purchase both materials from Osbryh. 

Once you gathered the required materials, head to the Grindstone > Handicraft. Select the Seaguller’s Mask and craft it. Deliver the mask to Keeper Gwylan, and he will reward you with a Giant Feather consumable, which permanently increases your Encumberance limit by 5. Though this concludes the Irrational Hatred quest, Gwylan will also provide you with a Bird Trap recipe, triggering the follow-up quest, Eternal War.
