Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon has an ending epilogue, and the “Arthur’s Soul” arc is a pretty significant one. Continuing the game’s story until the end will eventually lead them to a dilemma. When confronting Caradoc towards the endgame, players will have the choice to reveal the truth about Arthur’s soul. But the dilemma remains: should you?

There is no answer to what you “should” be doing. This is because either of these choices will lead you ultimately to the same objectives. The only difference is the immediate outcome of your choices. Keep reading this guide to find out more about it.

Truth and Lies About Arthur’s Soul in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon

There are mainly two choices when it comes to Arthur’s soul and confronting Caradoc about it. You can either tell him or keep the truth with you. Your choices will affect the story ahead. Either way, the primary decision was taken when you saved Caradoc in the first place. Ultimately, the upcoming objectives will be lead to the same path.

Once you have broken out of prison and not killed Caradoc, you will eventually arrive at the coastline of that island. You can find Caradoc near the boat on the coast. There are a few dialogue options here that you can guide through to experiment with this choice. These go as follows:

  • First Option: When Caradoc asks what took you so long, simply answer, “I ran into some trouble along the way.”

  • Second Option: When Caradoc suspects that you must have something valuable on you, answer, “I found King Arthur…”

  • Third Option: If he feels sorry, simply ask, “What are you talking about?”

After these dialogue options, you will have to fight Caradoc. In the end, he stabs the player in hopes of ending Arthur’s soul. He will then set out on a journey across Avalon to find the means to kill the soul.

Once again, after you have saved Caradoc during the prison break, you will find him near the boat at the shore. After talking to him, he will once again question you as to why you were so late. Now, you must lie and say, “I have no idea what happened to me.” Now, you must insist on this lie. Stick to it by saying, “I told you – I have no idea.” When he then mentions destroying Arthur’s soul, reply with “I don’t care about all of that.” Now, you can close this sequence by sitting at the bonfire and talking to King Arthur’s soul.
