Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon’s Arthurian world challenges players to find their way in a mythical land. Awaken Realms’ latest open-world RPG asks them to make hard decisions and live with the consequences.

Most of the side quests are hidden behind secret areas, which require extensive exploration to find. These side quests have branching storylines, and one wrong decision can affect the rewards you get for completing them.

Hidden in the depths of a lake in Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon, to the northwest of Cuanacht, is the Abyss of Sagremor, where you will find the Throne of the Depths side quest. To begin the quest, you will need to enter the underworld and make your way to the Custodian.

After speaking with him, he directs you to kill him to get the keys to both of the Queen’s sisters’ quarters in the castle. You will only be granted an audience with the Queen after assisting her sisters. Defeat the Custodian to get the keys and proceed forward.

The eldest sister, Midwife, is on the second floor behind the statue of All Mother. Talk to her to activate the Lost in the Liminal side quest.

She will ask you to find her three children, Renaud, Noah, and Hugo, who have gone missing. Find the three sons to complete her quest.

Now head to the banquet hall inside the castle to a locked chamber. Interact with a massive book in the chamber, which will transport you to the second sister Claire’s dream. Talk to her and fight off her former lover within the dream.

Defeating three versions of her lover will end the dream. You can speak with Claire in the castle to complete her side quest. After assisting both sisters, the Custodian will appear again. He will give you the keys to the Chapel, granting an audience with the Queen.

Defeating Queen Sagremor

Once you enter the Chapel room, a mysterious voice talks to you. This is Fungal Envo, a sentient fungus that offers you an important choice, which will later decide the fate of Sagremor.

Enter the barrier in the throne room to begin the fight with Queen Sagremor. The Queen will use frost spells from a distance and teleport to you for melee strikes. Make sure to keep a safe distance and heal between her teleports to maintain a steady pace.

The Final Choice

After defeating the Queen, speak with King Sagremor. Exhausting his dialogue options will result in him dying and giving you the Menhir Rite tablet, lifting the never-ending curse. This ends the Throne of the Depths quest, so make sure to loot all the chests in the abyss and complete the other side quests before making this decision.

While talking to the King, you’ll also get a chance to inflict him with the hivemind fungus using the Mycelium. This will make Fungal Envo take over everyone’s mind in Sagremor, unlocking the achievement “The Sporeborn King.”

Both choices will bring the Throne of the Depths side quest to an end.
