Twitch streamer John “Tectone” is facing a suspension from Twitch after he allegedly streamed anime to his audience. The platform bans its streamers for streaming copyrighted content, which is seemingly why Tectone’s channel got banned. The streamer said that it is just one of the reasons why he is facing a ban.

Twitch will restore Tectone’s channel on March 21, 2025, after which he plans to tell his audience the “whole truth.” The streamer revealed that he talked to Twitch and that the reasons for his ban are “hilarious.”

The streamer said he deserved the ban, but he was unhappy with Twitch’s moderation practices. He asked the platform to moderate consistently and alleged that it shows favoritism toward certain content creators.

Tectone Will Reveal More Information About the Ban “Soon”

Tectone posted a YouTube video talking about the ban. He told his audience that there are reasons beyond watching anime that led to his ban. The streamer promised to tell his fans the “whole truth” after his ban ends:

“I talked to Twitch staff themselves, to get the full reason, which was hilarious. I am not going to lie, people think it was because I was reacting to anime, which isn’t the whole truth. There is more to it than that. I hate to bait you this hard, but I really want to keep it as a surprise for tomorrow on stream because I will be getting unbanned.”

He also talked about how he has done other questionable activities on stream but never received a ban:

“The things that I have done. Like, getting naked on stream, ‘naked’ on stream. I had underwear on, put a black bar over it. Simulated j*rking off on stream, didn’t get banned for that. Watched p*rn on stream before, didn’t get banned for that.”

The streamer also pointed out that he watched the Dragon Ball Super anime on stream and dodged bans. He will reveal more information about his current ban after his return on March 21, 2025.

The Streamer Called Twitch Out for Favoritism

After addressing the ban, Tectone said that he deserved the ban but disagreed with how inconsistent Twitch’s moderation allegedly is. He called out the platform for not holding content creators like Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker accountable for allegedly platforming terrorists:

“I think more people should get banned for what they did because I think Twitch is kind of a cesspool right now, and I’m happy at least they dropped the hammer on moderating me. I hope other streamers who platform terrorists, will, get some type of comeuppance in the future. Because I think Twitch is heading in a really sh*tty direction. I think it’s becoming a joke of a platform, which is a shame.”

HasanAbi interviewed a 19-year-old Yemeni resident named Rashid in January 2024. He goes by the name “Houthi Pirate” and has a large social media presence. Rashid identified as a Houthi rebel under the Yeleni Ibb Governate and had pro-Palestine views. Houthis are armed rebels who originated in the 1990s to combat the Yemeni government.

A month after the interview, the United States government branded Houthis as terrorists, which sparked outrage in the Twitch community. Content creators and Twitch viewers called out Hasan for platforming a terrorist, and he faces criticism for the interview to this day.
