This is one of the three important factions in Tempest Rising, which will not be immediately accessible to play. Tempest Rising is a real-time strategy game set in the year 1997. During this alternate-universe period, the world is undergoing a nuclear war. In this article, we will guide you on why to choose the Veti Faction and everything you need to know about it.
What Is the Veti Faction in Tempest Rising?
The Veti Faction is also referred to as the “Ones Who Decree.” They were a technologically advanced group of extraterrestrial civilians from an ancient era over 10,000 years ago. With the help of their advanced technologies for that time, they easily subdued humanity. This technology of theirs was fueled by none other than the Tempest.
After a presumed rebellion by humans, the Veti disappeared without a trace, only to be sighted years later during the Tempest Wars. This, in turn, prompted the Global Defense Force to take action and focus all their research and resources on the Veti Faction to put an end to them once and for all. This also helped end the ongoing conflict between the GDF and the Tempest Dynasty factions.
While this faction won’t be playable at launch, they will appear in the campaign mode and, in future updates, become a playable faction. They are an ancient civilization yet still possess Tempest-based technologies, which are considered even more advanced than those used by the Global Defense Force. Some of the technologies they use include the following:
- Interstellar Travel: Technology used for space travel.
- Teleportation: Instant teleportation across a short distance.
- Mind Control: Seize control of enemy units
- Psionics: Manipulate the battlefield to their favor.
