The rebels in The Alters have left for the Rebel Base, and the only way to save their lives is to find the base.
The Alters throws you into the shoes of all the Jan Dolskis as they aim to survive on a hostile planet. Dolski makes clones of himself (or Alters, as they’re called), and each character you meet is a variation of yourself. As you proceed through Act 2 of the game, friction brews between the Alters, leading to the group splitting into two. The part that splits off is called the rebels, who are a crucial part of Act 3 of the game.
The rebels split off and built their own Rebel Base somewhere on the planet. Now, Magnetic Storms are raging through the planets, and the rebels are unaware of this. Their lives are at risk, and the only way to save them is to find the Rebel Base and inform them of the danger. Finding the rebels in the Rebel Base is important if you wish to save their lives. The task is time sensitive, meaning that you have to find them before the second Magnetic Storm arrives. If you fail to find them in time, they will perish, leaving their blood on your hands.
Finding the Rebel Base also unlocks the “I Found You” achievement, which is a must if you’re looking to 100 percent the game. The Rebel base is on the easternmost end of the map. It is directly east of your main base, but there’s no direct route leading there. Exit your base and take the route heading southwest. You’ll come across a climbing spot, which will then lead you to an area filled with distortions. Proceed through this area and keep moving east, and you’ll reach the Rebel Base.
The area is battery-heavy, so it is important to stock up on batteries. Furthermore, time is of the essence when finding the base. As stated earlier, if you fail to find the Rebel Base in time, you run the risk of the rebels dying.
