Popular streamers Zack “Asmongold” and Steven “Destiny” Kenneth Bonnell II have become embroiled in a controversy. For those unaware, Asmongold is one of the most popular Just Chatting and reaction Twitch streamers, who co-founded One True King (OTK) in 2020. Destiny, on the other hand, is a well-known political commentator who has been broadcasting on Kick since 2022, following his indefinite ban from the Amazon-owned livestreaming platform.

On November 10, 2024, a 54-second video from Destiny’s Kick livestream went viral on the r/LivestreamFail subreddit. In it, the Nebraska native reacted to Asmongold’s response to a YouTuber, who claimed Elon Musk drove the value of X “to the ground” after acquiring the platform for $44 billion.

Here’s what Zack said:

“I love how the quote of, ‘Elon Musk is a stupid a**hole. He bought Twitter for $44 billion and now he controls all three branches of government.’ You know, it’s crazy how he used this as a weapon to effectively change the outcome of an election. It is the most powerful media tool probably in the world right now. And, somehow the way that you are grading its viability is about how much someone would buy it for?”

Destiny wasn’t pleased with Asmongold’s praise for the South African billionaire, as he referred to the content creator as a “re*ard.” Steven also explained why he disagreed with the Texan’s opinions, saying:

“Oh god, he is actually so f**king stupid! Holy s**t, he’s a f**king re*ard. When people are valuing the business that you buy, they are not typically thinking of it as, ‘Well, you could use it as a subversive tool of propaganda to gain illegitimate control of a state.’ That is correct. Yes! That’s how it goes – when you buy a firm, you’re usually thinking in terms of valuation like what can you sell the firm for in the future.”

Asmongold Responds To Destiny

On the same day (November 10, 2024), Asmongold addressed Destiny’s recent comments about him. While expressing his appreciation for the political commentator, Zack stated:

“I like Destiny a lot. I just… I think Destiny is very smart. I think he’s actually more informed about these things than I am, to be honest with you. But, I think if you look at the reason why he did it, and if you look it in the context of his own other companies and his other goals, I think it makes a lot of sense! And, I think it was a good decision. I think this proves it.”

Asmongold then responded to Destiny referring to him using the “r-word,” saying that he was not offended by the latter’s remarks:

“‘He just called you an r-word.’ Guys, I’ve been on the internet for 25 years. Do you really think I’m going to get upset if somebody called me re*arded? I’m not mad at all about it. It’s totally fine!”
