AbroadInJapan calls out MrBeast for associating with Logan Paul. Says people have distanced themselves from him for the criticism.
A fairly big YouTuber named Chris Broad, aka “AbroadInJapan” has launched a critical video targeting various creators, including MrBeast. But before delving into the details, here’s a context of the situation.
In October 2024, Broad verbally criticized one of the biggest creators on YouTube – Jimmy “MrBeast.” During a stream with Connor “CDawgVA,” Broad revealed that Jimmy and his team are quite money-minded. While explaining, Broad said this:
“Anyone who thinks MrBeast is about anything other than making himself the richest YouTuber in the world has missed something.”
Later, he took to X to elaborate on his statements. The YouTuber criticized Jimmy for associating with Logan Paul. For those unaware, Broad lives in Japan and he referred to the infamous ‘suicide forest’ incident during Logan Paul’s visit to Japan. He wrote:
“Seeing him (Jimmy) partner with Logan Paul, a man who’s done nothing but awful act after act for almost a decade now just made me snap. It may have been six years but I still have the dystopian fucked up image in my head, of Logan Paul vlogging himself in the Aokigahara forest, mocking somebody who was quite literally hanging from a tree before him.”
He also referred to Jimmy, Logan Paul and JJ “KSI’s” joint venture Lunchly (a pre-cooked meal box brand):
“My rant wasn’t about ‘making money is bad.’ It was about the act of making money by partnering with a man with an abhorrent track record to sell crap food aimed at children seems like a pretty spectacular error of judgment.”
What Did AbroadInJapan Say About MrBeast?
Chris aka AbroadInJapan, uploaded a video on December 12, 2024, sharing his perspective on various creators, including Logan Paul, MrBeast, and the viral TikTok sensation Hawk Tuah, who is currently embroiled in a rug pull allegation.
Broad recently uploaded a video titled The Terrible Truth About YouTube’s Biggest Influencers, where he delved into this topic. In the video, he discussed Jimmy’s mammoth YouTube empire, stating:
“You have to wonder, what drives someone to want all that. Where does that motivation come from? We’re told it comes from a desire to make the world a better place. It’s about inspiring kids and highly publicized charity work…maybe he really is a force for good. Oh wait, he just wanted to sell snack boxes to children.”
He also mentioned that following his rant against MrBeast in October 2024, a few people began to distance themselves from him. He said:
“I had few people sort of distance themselves from me, which is fair enough, he is a powerful guy. The entire company is built around him. People don’t want to burn that bridge.”
AbroadInJapan also shed light on Logan Paul, expressing that he is still upset over Logan’s antics in Japan six years ago. He said:
“I agree, if somebody shows remorse for their actions and learns from it and moves on, then you should be able to forgive them…but type Logan Paul’s name online, and the headlines aren’t exactly a source for inspiration (refers to Paul’s Crypto controversy).”
