Your cop work in The Precinct can be strenuous, and not being able to save the game can become an added headache. Sadly, there’s no option for manual save in the game at the time of writing. You will have to rely on the in-game auto-save mechanic.

The Precinct pits you in the gang-infested streets of Averno City in 1983, where you step into the shoes of a cop. Your task is to bring law and order to society and clean up the violence. The neon-noir action sandbox cop title has gained massive popularity on launch, with more and more players trying out Fallen Tree Games’ offering.

How Does Auto-Save Work in The Precinct?

The auto-save is triggered in The Precinct at the end of the shift or when you complete a mission. This means if the session ends before either of these triggers, you will lose all the progress you have made in that session.

We have also noted players complaining that, in some cases, crashes are impacting their save files, with the game not registering any progress. Before you close a session and jump off The Precinct, always keep in mind to End Shift to trigger the in-game auto save mechanic.

It remains to be seen whether the developers decide to add the option to manual save sometime shortly through an update. It is one of the most-requested features from the community as of now.
