In this guide, we’ll offer a few tips on how you can maximize XP in The Precinct. We’ll list down what you should and shouldn’t do.

In The Precinct, you play as a rookie police officer who must perform his law enforcement duties diligently. In dispensing those duties, you will earn or lose XP depending on your actions. Make lawful arrests and take down criminals properly, and the game rewards you with XP and Upgrade Tokens. However, falter in performing those duties or use excessive force against a suspect, and the game will reprimand you.
So, you’ll need to understand which actions earn you XP the fastest if you want to quickly level up your game as a cop. In this guide, we’ll explain how you can maximize XP in The Precinct with a few tips.

How To Maximize XP in The Precinct

The following tips should help you gain the maximum amount of experience points in a short time.
Arrest Criminals Within Your Patrol Zone
Each of your shifts begins with a section of map highlighted. This is the game’s way of telling you where your patrol zone is and where that zone ends. During that shift, whenever you have to make an arrest, make sure to do that within the bounds of the patrol zone. If you can manage that, you’ll get 50 XP for it.
However, if the criminal escapes beyond the zone before you can make the arrest, you’ll only get 25 XP. So, to maximize the chances of getting more experience points, pick the shifts where the patrol zone is larger.
Read Criminal Their Rights During an Arrest
While you are in the process of arresting a suspect, make sure to quickly press the button prompt that appears for a few seconds on the screen. Doing so will cause the officer to read the suspect their Miranda rights. Since this is standard procedure in an arrest, you will get 50 XP for performing this action.
However, if you forget to read them their rights or simply mistime the button press, the game will penalize your XP earnings for the mistake.
Book Suspects at the Police Station Yourself
Early on, the game will teach you how to book a suspect at the station after making an arrest. However, later on, when things get busy, you might think it’s better to call a support unit to escort an arrested suspect to the station for booking. Doing this will earn you 50 XP. However, if you drive the suspect back to the station and book them yourself, the game nets you 250 XP.
So, if you want to maximize XP in The Precinct, always escort suspects to the station yourself, even if it means losing extra time on your shift. Keep in mind that the starting police vehicle you have has two seats for suspects. So, you can always arrest two perps and take them to booking at the same time to make the process more efficient.
Seize Evidence at Crime Scenes
As any good police officer does, you’ll need to carefully examine a crime scene after an incident occurs. If there are dead bodies, you should cover them on the scene. You also need to pick up any weapons that might be lying around after a fight.
Keep in mind that you don’t only find evidence after a gunfight. In some cases, the suspect you are about to arrest may drop a weapon they have on them. You will need to collect these too. Doing this will earn you significant XP, while failing to complete this duty may result in XP penalties.
