The Witcher 4 has finally been revealed in TGA 2024, and here is a breakdown of the trailer mentioning everything that you need to know.
CD Projekt Red is back with the most well-kept surprise of TGA 2024, where they revealed a nearly six-minute-long cinematic trailer of The Witcher 4. While we do not get to see our favorite Geralt of Rivia appear, the protagonist of The Witcher 4 is none other than Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon, or Ciri.
Here’s everything you need to know about The Witcher 4 as we break down its trailer as shown in TGA 2024.
The Witcher 4 confirmed with Ciri as The Main Protagonist
The Witcher 4 trailer was nothing short of an emotional rollercoaster for long-time fans of the game. The trailer starts with a classic Igni spell being used to light a fire. In the backdrop, yet another young villager is being prepared as a sacrifice to the monster of the forest. As the villager bids her last goodbyes, we can see the glimmer of twin swords, the standard Witcher weaponry.
Ciri emerges as this unnamed Witcher and heads into the forest to slay the monster. We also get to see a new monster, that seems to be an advanced version of the one we see in The Witcher TV series. As Ciri heads into the forest, the monster immediately thrashes her for refusing its prey.
After the first few lashes, Ciri goes back to the original Witcher style and uses potions to activate her Witcher mutations. The cat’s eye returns along with the slight darkening of her eyes, before she embraces the true Witcher persona.
During this fight, we also see Ciri using new powers. one that can possibly stun as well. Long-term Witcher fans already know Ciri as the “lady of space and time”, and she has been to unknown dimensions using her powers. It is possible that this is something that she picked up from one such dimension. Ciri also has a chain on her left hand, one that she can imbibe with Igni powers as well.
In the end, Ciri defeats the monster and beheads it, only to find that the girl she tried to save already has a dagger to her heart. As the villagers blame Ciri for the aftermath, one of the villagers mentions how all they wanted was for the girl to “go to the Gods”. To this, Ciri replied
“There are no Gods here. There are only monsters.”
With this chilling undertone, the Witcher 4 trailer comes to an end. No confirmed date or any other information has been revealed yet.
