The trait system in Verse Piece comes with different rarity levels, ranging from common to exotic. Each trait offers unique bonuses that can boost your stats and give you special abilities. S Tier Traits: The Best of the Best
These traits are the ones you really want to aim for. They give you the highest damage boosts and the best stat increases:
- Monarch: Gives you a x7.5 damage boost and adds 10,000 to all your stats. You’ll need this one if you want to get Sung Jin Woo.
- Rejected Zenin: Comes with a x6.5 damage boost and adds 10,000 to all stats. This one’s required for Toji Unleashed.
- Betrayer: Offers a x7.5 damage boost and gives you 7,500 extra Defense.
- Chosen One: Provides a x5 damage boost and increases all stats by 5,000.
A Tier Traits: Strong Options
While not quite as powerful as the S tier, these traits are still really good choices:
- Demon Lord: Gives you a x3 damage boost plus 2,500 extra Special and Defense stats.
- Shadow King: Offers a x3 damage boost and adds 500 to all your stats. You’ll need this one for the Cid v2 sword.
- The Alpha & The Omega: Comes with a x2.5 damage boost and adds 2,500 to your Sword and Defense stats.
- Honored One: Gives you a x2 damage boost, adds 250 to all stats, and comes with a special title that’s pretty useful.
B Tier Traits: Good Starting Options
These traits are perfect for getting started and can carry you through mid-game:
- King: Gives x1.75 damage boost, 150 Defense, and 75 Strength.
- Zenin: Offers x1.75 damage boost plus 200 Defense and Sword stats. You’ll need this for Maki’s weapon.
- Zoldyck: Comes with x1.5 damage boost and 350 Defense and Special stats. Required for getting Killua spec.
- Heavenly Restriction: Provides x1.75 damage boost and 100 to all stats. You’ll need this for Toji’s sword.
- Spiritual: Gives x1.5 damage boost with 25 Strength and Defense.
- God Like: Adds x1.5 damage boost and 50 to Defense, Sword, and Special stats.
- Armageddon: Offers x1.5 damage boost and 150 Strength.
C Tier Traits: Basic Traits
While these traits aren’t the strongest, they’re still better than having no trait:
- Super Neutral: Basic x1.05 damage boost.
- Super Human: Gives you a x1.25 damage boost.
- Special Master: Comes with x1.25 damage boost and 75 Special stat.
- Divine: Offers x1.25 damage boost, 75 Sword, and 50 Strength.

Getting and Storing Your Traits
To get a new trait, you’ll need to find the Traits Reroll NPC on Frost Island. It costs five gems for each reroll, but don’t worry about accidentally losing a good trait as the game will warn you before you reroll any Legendary, Mythic, or Exotic traits. Here’s how rare each trait type is:
- Exotic traits show up 0.025% of the time
- Mythic traits have a 0.5% chance
- Legendary traits appear 1.5% of the time
- Epic traits come up 3.5% of the time
Saving Your Traits
Verse Piece lets you save traits you might want to use later. To do this, you’ll need to:
- Get Trait Storage from the Adventure Shop on Merchant Island.
- Use Trait Storage material to unlock slots.
- Save any traits you think you might need for future weapons or abilities.
Getting Better Traits as You Play
Here’s what you should focus on as you progress through the game:
- When Starting Out: Try to get God Like or Spiritual traits since they give you good all-around boosts.
- Middle of the Game: Look for Zenin and Heavenly Restriction to help you get legendary weapons.
