Kai Cenat has seen immense growth on Twitch since 2022. However, he has been at the center of many controversies.
After beginning his career as a YouTuber back in 2018, Kai Cenat has become one of the most popular streamers on Twitch. He initially posted prank videos, then moved to play Valorant and FIFA during his livestreams.
He quickly surpassed popular streamer xQc and became the most-watched creator on the platform, surpassing over 90,000 subscribers. However, his success has come with multiple controversies. From Twitch bans to social media backlash from fans, Kai has seen it all. Here are some of his major controversies.
1) Kai Cenat Accidentally Leaked a Woman’s Personal Information
Kai was embroiled in a controversy when he accidentally leaked a woman’s personal information and Discord details in front of thousands of viewers. Kai Cenat came across the woman while playing Valorant, and she was making racial remarks about the streamer. As her details were out in the open, Kai’s fans started to spam her information in the chat.
As many felt the woman was disrespectful towards the streamer, mistakenly, another woman with the same name ended up getting harassed online. The screenshot and Kai’s clip went viral on Reddit. While most of the audience blamed Kai, others said that he could not be held accountable for the mistake his fans made. However, many argued that he could have stopped the harassment from escalating into a huge chaos.
2) Jovi Pena and Kai’s New Year Party
Back in 2023, Kai Cenat hosted a New Year’s party, but it did not turn out to be a celebration for him. TikTok star Jovi Pena allegedly accused someone of s*xually assaulting her at the party.

She also stated that Kai had specifically asked her to stay the night, assuring her that she was safe there. However, she accused that when she fell asleep, a complete stranger assaulted her until she woke up. She also said that Kai initially claimed he did not know the accused person, but later she found out that they had been friends for years.
3) Kai Cenat Was Charged With Inciting a Riot
In August 2023, Kai visited New York with other AMP members and announced a massive giveaway at Union Square. Their planned giveaway brought in thousands of fans, causing havoc. Cenat shared a social media post where he said he would be giving away PS5 consoles, gaming accessories, and gift cards. The organizers underestimated the number of fans who might show up, leading to chaos.
This caused a riot, and later, the New York City Police Department (NYPD) confirmed that Kai Cenat had been arrested for rioting, encouraging a riot, and assembling a massive crowd unlawfully.
4) Max Major Pulled a Stunt During Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 2
A clip from Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 2 subathon went viral after he was seen “hanging” a person. In the video, Kai was instructed by Max Major to pull a rope. Once he did, Max Major was suspended in the air, hanging from a noose. This left everyone in shock, and Kai experienced a wave of panic. Once it happened, Kai said:
“What the f**k? Wait, no, no! I’m not getting banned! Ni**a, I might get banned! Is he good? I’ll stay here. I’ll stay here! Can I stay here?”
However, it turned out to be a prank, and Max revealed that the stunt was planned. Kai Cenat also shared a video where Major stated that it was all part of his plan.
5) Kai Glorifying Jail During His 7 Days in Stream
During his “7 Days In” streaming marathon, many accused Kai of glorifying jail in front of his young audience. He addressed the accusations, mentioning there were parts of the stream people might not have noticed. While he was on a rant, he said:
“Actually, click on an actual stream, you weird f**ks! Little n**gas was saying what they were saying about the clips, but did you see when we gathered all of the worst kids from the community and brought them in and actually talked to them? Oh, you did not see that, right? Or the thousand times where I said, oh, this is not cool, I don’t want to be here, I don’t like being here? Saying that you should not want to be here, oh you did not see that, right?”

He continued talking about the experience, mentioning how he disliked waking up early in the morning and that the food was terrible. He continued, saying:
“Or when I was waking up at 6 AM shivering cold as hell, back hurt, eating wack a** food saying this is why you shouldn’t want to be here? Oh, you did not see that, right, but you have seen all the other clips that went viral and want to say that I glorified it, right?”
