It might take you a while to wrap your head around the classes in Titan Quest 2. That’s because, unlike most other RPGs, here you don’t just pick one class at the beginning of the game and proceed from there. Instead, you select two out of three Masteries, which will shape what skills and abilities your character can use. If that seems confusing to you, let’s break it down further. In the following guide, we’ll help you understand all classes in Titan Quest 2.

Every class is made out of two Masteries. So, before you can think of creating your class, you need to understand what the Masteries are and how each of them works. So, the three Masteries currently in the game are:

  • Earth Mastery
  • Warfare Mastery
  • Storm Mastery

Now, let’s take a detailed look at what each Mastery has to offer.

Earth Mastery

In this Mastery, your primary weapon is fire. You can engulf the battlefield in flames, causing sustained damage to enemies. You can choose to adopt a careful approach with your fire-based attacks, or you can unleash them in full force. Doing the latter can cause the flames to engulf you too. So, you’ll have to manage your health if you decide to take the brash approach.

Warfare Mastery

As you might have guessed, this Mastery mainly allows you to use all kinds of weaponry in the game. You can also master ranged attacks with weapons other than magic staves. So, it’s up to you whether you want to create a build that jumps headfirst into close-range combat or somebody who likes to deal damage from a distance. The Mastery also comes with support abilities that let you quickly get into the fray of battle and dominate.

Storm Mastery

The primary attack type here is thunder/lightning. Most of your attacks will have AoE damage, which also means slowly eating away at the opponent’s health over time. You also have access to ice attacks, allowing you to chill or completely freeze your foes in place. These abilities will give you greater control over the battlefield, allowing you to choose to fight at your own pace.

As you can mix and match the three Masteries, the game currently features four class options. Here’s what they are:

  • Bone Charmer: Mixing Warfare Mastery and Earth Mastery
  • Battlemage: Mixing Warfare Mastery and Earth Mastery
  • Elementalist: Mixing Storm Mastery and Earth Mastery
  • Thane: Mixing Warfare and Storm

In its current state, we’d suggest picking the Elementalist option simply because it’ll give you access to all elemental attacks, ranging from fire to lightning and ice. It allows you to be in greater control of the battlefield and use different options based on the scenario.
