Titan Quest 2 has two death penalties, depending on the difficulty you play the game on. If you’re playing the game on Normal Mode, you get a 1% XP penalty each time you die. This means you’ll earn less XP overall, and you’ll need to grind a lot more to level up. With the penalty in place, you’ll then revive at a nearby waypoint.
If you’re playing the game on Hard Mode, things are a lot worse. Dying in Hard Mode results in perma-death. What this means is that if you die, you’re gone for good. You won’t be revived, and the game will just abruptly end. You’ll then have to start over with a new character. We do not recommend playing the game on Hard Mode on your first playthrough. Play the game on Normal or Easy first to get a feel for things, and then bring your best build into Hard Mode.
