It has a great IPS panel with a 240Hz refresh rate, which should be good enough for most FPS games. This monitor has height, swivel, and pivot adjustment mechanisms. Therefore, it can be adjusted in multiple ways. The average response time is often below 6ms, which is not bad at all, especially considering the price.

4) Acer Nitro 27″ 300Hz Gaming Monitor
The Acer Nitro XV272U F3 is the upgraded model of the Acer Nitro monitor we discussed above. It has a higher 300Hz refresh rate, which should lead to some impressive performance in FPS games. The panel used here is Fast IPS, which is a form of IPS designed for higher refresh rates. Therefore, it has an even lower response time of 5ms. The colors are quite accurate at 95% DCI-P3, so there won’t be any issues when playing games.

2) ASUS ROG Swift 27″ 480Hz Gaming Monitor
The ASUS ROG Swift PG27AQDP is one of the best gaming monitors, period. Whether you prefer playing esports, souls-like games, or RPGs, this ASUS monitor will deliver it all. That’s because it features an OLED panel, which delivers the deepest black levels and the brightest whites. However, they are not the best parts of this monitor. The ASUS ROG Swift PG27AQDP’s ultimate features are its 480Hz high refresh rate and extremely low 0.03 – 0.04 response time, which is the best on this list. That’s why I find it easy to recommend this monitor to anyone who’s into competitive and FPS games.

1) BenQ Zowie 24″ 540 Gaming Monitor
The BenQ Zowie XL2586X gaming monitor’s main goal is to deliver an extremely high refresh rate, and it certainly achieved that. BenQ utilized a TN panel to achieve the high refresh rate of 540Hz, which is an overkill for most gamers. However, unlike the old TN panels, the one used has better colors, higher motion clarity, and little to no ghosting. The colors are also quite accurate, but the viewing angles are still bad, which is a trademark of TN panels. However, the included side panels will help players stay focused in the center for the best viewing experience.

Final Thoughts
The BenQ Zowie and ASUS ROG Swift are two of the best monitors for competitive and FPS gaming. However, if we had to choose one out of the two, I would go with the ASUS ROG Swift. The 540Hz refresh rate of the BenQ monitor cannot outweigh the benefits of the OLED panel in the ASUS ROG Swift. However, if you want something a bit cheaper, the ASUS ROG Strix is also a great option at a reasonable price.
