Raise your Class Level in Umamusume Pretty Derby Team Trials by scoring above the promotion line and challenging higher-ranked opponents weekly.

Team Trials is the ranked PvP game mode in Umamusume Pretty Derby, which separates players into six classes independent of their Team Rank. The total of all the veteran umas’ scores on your team determines Team Rank, which ranges from G to SS. Team Trials pits you against opponents with a similar Team Ranking. To raise your Team Rank beyond a certain threshold, you will also need to increase your Class Level.
What Is Class Level in Team Trials?

There are six Class Levels in Umamusume Pretty Derby, and they determine how many veteran umas you can field in each race category. Reaching or maintaining a Class Level also provides weekly rewards. Starting at Class Level 1, you can assign one uma each to Sprint, Dirt, Mile, Medium, and Long races.
At Class Levels 2 and 3, each event can have two and three umas participating, respectively. After Class 3, the total number of umamusume participating in your team remains at 15. Higher Class Levels only increase the promotion and retention rewards.
How To Increase Class Level in Umamusume Pretty Derby

Increasing Class level requires accumulating a higher score than the rough average of all the players in your class by the end of the weekly cycle. Check the score needed to progress your class by heading to the Team Trials menu.
Your current position and points are listed below the Class level. Below that is the current promotion line, next to “Class Rewards.” As long as your score remains higher than the promotion line, you will advance to the next class. Scores are tallied at the end of the weekly cycle.
The promotion line shifts higher as the week progresses. There are no more promotions after reaching Class 6, and you can only retain your class and reap its rewards by staying above the promotion line. The fastest way to raise Class level is to challenge opponents at a higher Team Rank than you.
Every time you enter Team Trials, three opponents are presented to you. The bottom option has a lower Team Rank, the middle one has a slightly higher rank, while the top one has a significantly higher rank. By selecting the topmost option, you will get far more points per race, even if you lose. Using up all your TP once per day is a simple way to gain promotions every week, at least until Class 3.
Demotion
If your score is below the promotion line by the end of the week, you will be demoted to a lower Class Level. However, players between Classes 1 and 3 cannot be demoted. No further promotions are possible beyond Class 6, and staying above the promotion line will maintain your class.
