Running Shoes are one of the two important resources you need in large quantities to increase your Umamusume’s potential. Potential is a stat that, when increased, unlocks many types of special skills that your Uma Girl can purchase during her URA Finale career runs. These skills are special because they suit your Uma Girl’s style and can be very useful if purchased before races.
This guide explains how to obtain and use Racing Shoes in Umamusume Pretty Derby.

Obtaining Racing Shoes in Umamusume Pretty Derby
In Umamusume Pretty Derby, there are a total of five different types of Running Shoes for each type of track in the game, which are:
- Sprint Running Shoes
- Mile Running Shoes
- Medium Running Shoes
- Long Running Shoes
- Dirt Running Shoes
Each shoe upgrades a specific type of Uma Girl, and you can see this from the Potential upgrade screen. Currently, there are three best methods through which you can consistently earn Running Shoes:
- Clubs: You can ask for 10 Running Shoes of any type in the club chat every day, and other players can donate them to you. With how wholesome the player base is, you are likely to receive all the shoes in a well-populated club.
- Daily Tazuna Sale: This is a type of event that can occur three times a day after you win a daily race. It’s a 10-minute-long event where Tazuna sells various items, including three of any type of Running Shoe for 1,000 Monie.
- URA Finale Mode: Participating in races in the URA Finale mode rewards you with Running Shoes. The type of Running Shoe you receive depends on the Uma Girl you are training.
These methods can earn you between 10 and 30 Running Shoes per day if done correctly.
Using Racing Shoes in Umamusume Pretty Derby
You can use Running Shoes by navigating to the Potential upgrade screen under the Trainee menu in Enhance. You must use Running Shoes along with Winner’s Sashes and Monie to upgrade Potential Levels and unlock skills that can appear during races in the URA Finale mode.
