The more you progress through the career mode, the more you level up your character and unlock perks. These include some special abilities to help them perform better in races, as well as a special outfit.

Unlock Signature Racewear in Umamusume Pretty Derby
Unlocking signature racewears requires you to reach 3 stars with any character. This is an individual progress system that needs you to complete the tasks for all the characters separately. You can scout characters using the scout feature on your homepage. Depending upon your luck, you will receive characters ranging from 1 star and above. If you do not have the necessary stars for your horse girl, you can increase the overall stars with the help of star pieces. Star pieces are a form of compensation you receive upon drawing a duplicate horse girl while scouting trainees. Depending upon how many stars your character has, you will receive a different number of star pieces.
Star Unlocks in Umamusume Pretty Derby
Once you obtain the desired number of star pieces, you can use them to finally upgrade your character’s stars. You can do that by following these steps,
- Click on the ‘Enhance’ tab on the home screen and select ‘Trainee’.
- Now, select the ‘Star Unlock’ option.
- Select any of your 1-starred or 2-starred characters and click on the ‘Star Unlock’ button.
- You will see a meter mentioning how many star pieces you have in contrast to the required number. If all is in order, click on ‘Star Unlock’ again till your character reaches 3-star. This will unlock the Signature Racewear.

How to Equip Signature Racewear
To equip the racewear, follow these simple steps
- From the home screen, click on the ‘Enhance’ tab at the bottom left side of your screen.
- Now, click on the ‘Trainee’ button. Click on the ‘Trainee’ button once more on the next screen as well.
- Over here, you will see a list of all the Umamusume you have unlocked. Select any of your 3-starred characters.
- Click on the ‘green book’ icon beside the character’s avatar.
- You will see a ‘Cloth’ icon on the character’s leg. Click it.
- Now select the third attire. This will be a unique attire per character. Now click back, and this attire will be equipped.
